Suspension of Detention for Dr. Hak Ja Han Extended by One Month, Through June 30

The Seoul Central District Court has extended the suspension of detention for Family Federation leader Dr. Hak Ja Han by one more month.

Presiding Judge Woo In-sung approved her request for the extension today.

The suspension was set to end on the 30th of this month. It now runs until 2 p.m. on June 30.

The reason given is hospital treatment.

Since her detention began last September, her health has gotten worse. Her lawyers have asked the court to suspend her detention several times.

In November last year and February this year, she was treated for injuries from falls and had glaucoma surgery.

In March, the court approved a suspension so she could get treatment for her shoulder. She has been on trial while temporarily released.

At a hearing in February, her lawyer said that after three separate falls, the pain had spread through her whole body and painkillers were no longer enough.

The lawyer added that she could not get proper treatment inside the detention center. She needed to be hospitalized or cared for by a dedicated nurse.

In China, sharing a Bible verse online can now get you three years in prison.

That is the actual charge against Pastor Ezra Jin.

In September 2025, Beijing issued an "Online Code of Conduct for Religious Professionals," banning unauthorized religious content on the internet. One month later, the police arrived.

October 10, 2025. Coordinated raids across 11 cities in China.

A US-based Zion pastor was leading a Zoom call with church leaders in China that day. According to Jin's family, participants said "I have the police right outside my door right now," quit the call, and went silent.

That same day, Pastor Jin himself was arrested at his home in Beihai. Nearly three dozen Zion leaders disappeared in total.

Jin had been targeted by Beijing for years.

In 2021, government officials invited him to dinner. Jin told his seminary students beforehand: if I don't check in within an hour, come and get me. The seminarians arrived to find him slurring his words, disoriented.

According to family testimony, state operatives had drugged him.

Eighteen leaders, including Jin, remain in prison.
His lead defense lawyer Zhang Kai had his license revoked in March.

Fortify Rights, Human Rights Watch, and members of the US Senate have called the October operation the largest coordinated crackdown against an unregistered Chinese church in over four decades.

The CCP fears faith.
And it fears what binds the church to the family.

Chinese Communists Perverting the Bible and Turning Jesus into a Murderer.

The CCP cannot crush the church, so it is rewriting Scripture.China now has as many as 130 million Christians.

By that estimate, there are more Christians in China than members of the Chinese Communist Party.The persecution has escalated:

- Bibles for children are forbidden
- Bible apps were forcibly removed from every Chinese e-commerce store
- Christian children have been pressured to publicly sign forms renouncing their faith

The newest target is the text itself.
A government-published high school textbook revised John 8, the story of the woman caught in adultery.

The CCP version reads:"Jesus once said to the angry crowd who was trying to stone a woman who had sinned, 'He who is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.' When his words came to their ears, they stopped moving forward. When everyone went out, Jesus stoned the woman himself, and said 'I am also a sinner.'"

The change fits the CCP's stated plan to update the Bible with "core socialist values" and remove passages that do not reflect communist beliefs.

One Chinese pastor's response, quoted in the report:
"The rulers have chosen an enemy that can never be imprisoned. They are doomed to lose."

​特に、自らのルーツを大切に生きようとする二世の方々が、国家から「心理的抑圧の状態にある」と一方的に決めつけられることは、筆舌に尽くしがたい人権侵害です。国際人権法は、たとえ政府や大多数に好まれない教義であっても、それを信じ抜く権利を明確に支持しています。
