just picked up the keys to my new place. first place all to myself since i moved into the dorms at 18. cried a lil bit. we made it.

this is the first time in 8 years that i didn’t wake up on this day knowing exactly what day it was. i didn’t realize until i was writing the date on the board in my classroom this morning. i miss you. but i am so thankful to be where i am. you would be so proud, dad.

I’ve gotten a couple compliments recently about the language I’m using to deescalate kids or mediate peer conflicts and this isn’t a brag or anything. More so just like, it’s been a really tough behavioral year and it’s nice to hear that someone thinks I’m handling it well.
