@megan_mou@harvey so true i was writing about my post grad reflections and had the same thoughts, especially on: building trust = being detail oriented + having opinions and owning your decisions. btw loving the use of rocket ship emoji
@hazelcough@stripe great guide, all very true at Netflix as well! this actually prompted me to write down some reflections on AI as a recent grad, i’m curious to hear how much you agree with. https://t.co/5qNVe1H1qr
Espa is now generally available! Personal AI agents are here, and I sat down with @BloombergTV@RomaineBostick to discuss what will decide which ones people actually let into their lives.
Our goal is to be the most trusted AI assistant for life and work.
TIL about a paper showing that LLMs do best when working on problems where they have a 50% success rate. this feels generalizable and i wonder if the models inherited this from us. also i'm curious what the rates are among my friends. 50 seems low

read a paper recently about the reliability of agents and it is so validating to see metrics align with empirical observations! specifically: reducing stochasticity doesn't always improve performance, but clarification / targeted feedback does

@mathurahravi the underrated thing about making more bets (great point btw) is that you can do this low-risk too. even something as simple as having convictions in certain companies/directions and investing, etc, is a low stakes way to train your brain to have some skin in the game.
Today we are finally coming out of stealth with a few announcements:
- Founding @thirdmomentres with my friend Jeffrey Yan: automatically improving inference endpoints (with focus on data research).
- Fundraise at $250M valuation earlier this Summer with investors including @neo (@apartovi ), @Mascobot , @adamdangelo and more.
- 0 -> 8 figures in revenue within ~6 months of founding the company. In just this past month, we won $10M+ in contracts.
- Hiring ~15 more engineers in the next 45 days. Currently based in SF, opening a NYC office soon.
Jeffrey and I are building Third Moment to do two things: (1) make it effortless for enterprises to deploy state-of-the-art AI tailored to their workflows, and (2) build best-in-class RL environments that push the frontier of model capabilities. The design of a reinforcement learning environment has an underappreciated impact on the resulting behaviors of the models trained on it.
If you are interested in pushing the frontier of ML systems and data research, reach out to us ([email protected]). Check out OpenAI’s blog post on some of our experiments in the comments.
Introducing Decision-Bench, a new industry standard for measuring model capabilities in making ROI-positive decisions on messy enterprise data.
Every enterprise has slowed AI investments due to no ROI; AIs still fail at complex decisions, and pricing second order effects.
@hananyss history repeats itself/things are cyclical, and i feel like older women’s advice is just a pot of gold because it shows you which wheels do and don’t need to be reinvented
I'm starting a podcast, "Confession," where I invite tech veterans to share their painful lessons.
We all connect through shared pain. Hear founders & CEOs like Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Dara Khosrowshahi (Uber), Luana Lopes Lara (Kalshi), and others share their stories and lessons learned.

@anilkseth@sapinker@anilkseth Just finished your biological naturalism paper - I've recently been considering whether the ability for the mind to wander (in a non goal-oriented sense) is part of the conscious experience. Curious if you think that might be part of what makes AI not conscious.
1/13 Can we assess AI consciousness without first solving consciousness itself?

living in sf has been somewhat healing for my inner child bc it’s one of the only places in the world where you get insane aura points for being a nerd
