This is genuinely incredible and says SO SO MUCH about the perception of China in the West.

This is the #1 news show in France, and the host - David Pujadas - asks the pundits around the table (a sample of the top media figures in France) if they can name 3 living Chinese people.

That's it: they just need to say the names of 3 living Chinese people, anyone. This should be extremely easy.

Yet not of a single one of them can name a single Chinese beyond Xi Jinping. They do not know a single living Chinese person beyond the president.

That's the level of ignorance of China we're dealing with in the West today, in 2026.

This is actually huge.

I keep hearing the narrative that many people in China don't have social insurance: that's not true, virtually everyone in China does, BUT - up until now - you were only covered in your Hukou, your official hometown on paper, even if you hadn't lived there in decades.

Which was a big issue for the 357 million migrant workers in China who - if they had a health issue - either had to go back home to get their healthcare covered or pay out of pocket where they lived.

This is now over 👇: China's State Council just announced that workers can now enroll in social insurance wherever they work, regardless of their hukou. 357 million people just got healthcare where they actually live.

It's also huge with respect to what this means for the Hukou system overall: every reform like this chips away at it further. The direction is now unmistakable: the hukou is being dismantled, one benefit at a time.

Haven't they seen their elected leaders storming a military base to free the IDF rapists? or the Rabbis who blessed the IDF rapists? or the IDF rapists being hosted like heroes on national TV?

Haven't they seen the poll showing 65% of Israelis supported the IDF rapists & opposed any criminal prosecution of them? or Israel's own medical report that showed how the rape victim was hospitalized with severe bleeding, a ruptured rectum & exploded intestines from the assault?

Haven't they seen how the Israeli military prosecutor that tried to investigate the soldiers was fired from her job & placed under house arrest? or how the rapists were all let free, reinstated in the IDF & widely celebrated by their government?

Haven't they read Israel's founding father, David Ben Gurion, or Israel's top historian, Benny Morris, openly admit the IDF raped Palestinians systematically?

Those rape deniers are the most shameless, despicable & malevolent of propagandists. They've seen with their own eyes an indisputable mountain of evidence. They know the world have seen it too. Yet, they lie in your face so obviously.

If they lie about something as well documented as their systematic use of sexual violence as a weapon of war, imagine what else they have they been lying about?

Our new episode @ReimaginingG is on Soviet Foreign Policy and Stalin's desperate attempt to ally with the West against Hitler, only to be rejected over and over again.

In the 1930s, the USSR sought a collective security alliance against Nazi Germany for six years. Despite repeated efforts, Western powers (Britain, France) and Poland refused cooperation. The Soviets’ policy was a Sisyphean failure—dead by 1936, yet they kept trying for years, unable to come to terms with it.

Poland consistently blocked the key issue: passage for the Red Army to fight Germany. Even secret guarantees to withdraw troops after the war. In 1939, Anglo-French negotiations were half-hearted, in bad faith, and stalling for time. Fearing isolation and ending up fighting Hitler alone, Stalin turned to the Nazi-Soviet pact—a direct consequence of Munich and Western rejection, not a desire for alliance with Hitler.

The Red Army’s stand at Moscow and Stalingrad, not Normandy, was the real turning point in winning World War II. Over 99% of German divisions fought the USSR until late 1943.

The Western myth that the USSR “stabbed the West in the back” is unsupported by archival evidence.
