Good evening!
It’s that time of year again where I round up some things I thought were touching, lovely, silly or gas this year. God knows we could all do with the distraction right now 🤪🤪🤪
So sit back, relax and dive in. Hope you enjoy 💕
The Conservatives’ Health & Social Care Bill - which is being voted on tonight - will split our NHS into 42 parts. It will let private companies sit on each of the 42 boards making decisions on funding and services. Private companies should have no say in the running of our NHS.
We have had more mentees than mentors apply for our Autumn 2021 mentoring program, so we need to find about a dozen more mentors before 19 Nov. We particularly need women in software development, data science, chemistry and sci-comms. https://t.co/evMECBA5nV 8/
NEW OBR’s Richard Hughes on Brexit -
“so far the data that we've seen on impact of Brexit, especially taking into account fact new trading arrangements came in in January is broadly consistent with assumption we had, which is that it would reduce our long run GDP by around 4%”
This government are trying to buy more favour in the North of England through announcing spot investments into small projects. This isn’t levelling up, it’s PR finance designed by manipulative individuals .
Well done and congratulations to the @LancsParkinsons@BL_LTHTR team for being highly commended in the Sharing learning and education category for their Parkinson's Medication - Get it on Time! entry 🎉👏 #ParkinsonsExcellence
WATCH: Untreated sewage was released into Langstone Harbour, Hampshire for 49 hours.
Photographer Chris Pearsal, who captured the footage, tells #BBCBreakfast ‘it needs to stop’.

GREAT NEWS
My campaign to limit the number of people retweeting this image and causing upset to the Conservatives has made great progress I am now so confident that nobody will RT it that I am going to tag in @Conservatives so they can see how well we're doing.
Thank you.

@DeborahMeaden Here the list of all the MP’s who voted to allow raw sewage to be dumped into our waterways. My MP, Dan Poulter, Central Suffolk, is on there. He’s our local GP; obviously not concerned about environmental or human health. https://t.co/BBD2rz4eKJ
I want to see simple, low key measures like mandatory masks, home working and social distancing brought back ASAP to (a) protect society’s vulnerable members from Covid & (b) help the NHS carry on caring for all our non-Covid patients.
Please RT if you do too.
If you're free tomorrow (3/9) between 12-2 I'd highly recommend attending this webinar linking global engagement and the wellbeing of health workers. The lineup of speakers looks great and it's free to access. @wenurses#healthworkersmatter https://t.co/sPcYMEw0wo
