@joanne_jobutts@WaughMairead This is the issue. I have previously asked for the cost of a special placement to be given to the mainstream school whilst the child, family and school have to wait for the specialist provision highlighted on EHCP, even 50% would help…
The situation is so hard for all involved.
@pixielish@Headteacherchat I was 38 weeks pregnant at my interview and started my first headship with a 4 month old and a 4 year old.
Thank God for my mum!
It was hard, but can be done. Try to make time and give yourself and your family permission to be ‘off duty’
@educationgovuk Never forget that on 27th May 2020 when Nick Gibb was asked why not bring Y5 students back into school during Covid rather than Y6 for whom SATs had been cancelled, this was his reply.
@LibraryGordon@peoplearchive My mum has dementia and I’m trying to get her to consider sheltered housing. Her biggest concern is that she doesn’t want to sit around singing WWII songs. I told her that the music shared now would be 60s rock ‘n’ roll- I do hope I’m correct!
@makesmilk I think about this so often. Both for my own boys and thinking about the last time my dad carried me (whenever that was)
Life is full of unknown lasts.
@sneezytreezy3 @Katie21064482@4bruce7 This was my mum too.
Unfortunately she could only afford one pair of shoes a year (bought for the start of the new school year in September) Therefore I wore that same pair all year round even through summer, for everything!
@Mrs_K_Shaw It is a job which is never finished. There is always more that could be done….therefore go into it knowing that the day doesn’t end at 3pm and that some work will need to be done out of term time, but set limits, turn your off your email and make family time important.
#headshipinaclip A thread 1 of 5
Headship in a clip 1/5 - people, critics, parents, complaints, policy and system failures, parents, colleagues and life knock your confidence but you get up https://t.co/CWHRwIpq7A
@hillsfaraway@MissTicehurst@LornaBuckwell @kwh76 @Heathfield_CC In many ways quite a hard read too! Brought a lot of feelings and issues back.
Well done Liz and Emma!
@Camelgod3 @RobGoffee Just so long as schools remain open in order that the workforce remains available.
I agree that it is better for children’s academic and social learning and well being to be in school which is why real mitigations should have been prioritised for schools.
