@jaycaspiankang@TheStalwart My child didn't get into sports at a young age and we thought it was over for her. Then she started high school at a private Quaker-affiliated school with no-cut sports teams. Anyone who wants to play can play. It's been a revelation.
@EileenChollet@karenvaites We should wait for the April data (with the delayed Easter), since Europeans have a long Easter break. Also, Europeans were already having sticker shock at the surging US prices for hotels and restaurants before Trump, based on travel social media groups I frequent.
@griesar Dems voted early that year and the early votes weren’t associated with a precinct. One of the reasons Rs found the results so suspicious, the early voting made things look weird.
@DKThomp I’ll always remember Jim Norton saying on his radio show shortly before the 2016 election, “But won’t it make you feel more a little more alive to wake up and realize Donald Trump is president?” He was somewhat looking forward to the chaos.
@TheStalwart It exists in white collar work too. Even working the customer support phones teaches you soo much about what customers want, how to design products/services and where all the bugs are. The trenches are great training grounds.
Sweden’s excess death rate during the three pandemic years, 2020–2022, compared to the previous three years, was 4.4%. Remarkably, it is the lowest excess mortality rate of all European countries, including our Scandinavian neighbors.
