If you know a Ukrainian today, they’re sure to have a war impact story. Thinking tonight of 44+ million Ukrainians and diaspora going through collective trauma since Feb 24. Life changes so quickly, but we shall overcome.
Kharkiv residents wish Happy Birthday to Fuminori Tsuchiko. He sold his home in Japan and moved to Kharkiv to open a cafe in the city. The cafe offers free hot meals to about 1,000 people a day.
Thank you, Sir! Happy birthday!
@DrAnnaPirates Maybe it's like 'Franglais'? In Canada it's a moderately common term, meaning an overuse of English words by French speakers.
It can often be seen with students learning French too, where you add a French accent to an English word to make it sounds more authentic.
Hi @TTChelps what are you doing to prevent women from dying by a) stabbing, b) being set on fire, or c) being pushed on tracks, when using your service?
@christogrozev I am from Poltava. My emotions after turning off the light and water- I will sit in a fur coat in an apartment, cook on wood, but I will not give up. russia's behavior does not cause fear, but only anger and a desire to win.
It feels like the darkest hour since February for Ukraine - from talking to my family and friends on the ground. Heavy losses, lack of equipment, slow down in private donations, psychological exhaustion. If you know someone in UA, now is a good time to reach out and offer help.
After 2.5 weeks with no water, electricity, or heat in Severodonetsk (UKR), my 84yo grandparents have been evacuated. They both have Covid - my grandpa's lungs are 80% affected, my grandmas - 30%. They are now being treated in a hospital.
I'm privileged that they're not dead.
When the war started, @WHO shifted to running an emergency operation. Every delivery of supplies is carried out in coordination with national authorities, @UN agencies & partners on the ground.
5 weeks into the war, we’ve reached around half a million people with health supplies
Remember Russian 'hero' on state TV? Now, she's given voice by numerous Western media to speak against sanctions, asking to lift them because 'her daughter cannot pay for her school lunch with a virtual card.' Just in case you thought that psy-op was against war in Ukraine.
Innovation driven by necessity - it's interesting how quickly countries push to modernize energy supply to renewables, only once a crisis occurs (ie. a push to cut off Russian oil & gas)
"As the Ukraine conflict rages, Italy's cabinet has approved six new wind farms to be built on land, from Sardinia to Basilicata, and has committed to unlocking 'several tens of gigawatts of offshore wind power'."

This is Inna Derusova, a field medic killed by artillery attack on Okhtyrka, saving more than 10 soldiers that day. She was awarded the Hero of Ukraine title posthumously. Her courage should inspire the world, not Russian editor. Russian war crimes must be on the front pages.
Thread on Russian perception of "Nazism". -- 1. For Russian propaganda, "Nazi" equals to national; every national movement opposing to Russian assimilation, is called "Nazi" 1/
