Eduarniel Núñez was claimed off waivers by the Cubs after the Orioles DFA’d him in early June. He spent a month in the ACL refining his arsenal before debuting for Iowa this week.

His fastball is up ~2 mph with ~2” more iVB and HB. The slider is up 1.1 mph while generating an extra inch of depth.

Small sample, but he’s an arm to watch. Racked up 11 whiffs and 4 Ks over 2.0 perfect innings tonight.
