Essentialism is a teacher-centered philosophy focusing on traditional curriculum and American values. The sole focus of learning is curriculum and the teacher is the main authoritative figure. This picture is a prime example! #educ200 #01FA2

Today in class we discussed teaching philosophies by working in small groups to draw different learning spaces. We then discussed our drawings as a class and tried to guess which philosophy was being displayed. Amanda and I drew social reconstruction! #educ200 #01FA2
