๐บ๐ธ Pete Hegseth just got absolutely humiliated by Senator Tammy Duckworth!
Senator Tammy Duckworth, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who lost both legs while serving in Iraq, challenged Hegseth:
"I'm glad you brought that up. Can you name a single country that belongs to ASEAN and explain what agreement we have with it? And, by the way, how many countries are in ASEAN? Frankly, I'm not sure you even know who our allies are."
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth:
"Well, I can't give you the exact number, but I certainly know our allies in South Korea, Japan, and Australia..."
Senator Duckworth:
"None of the countries you just mentioned are members of ASEAN. I suggest you do your homework before engaging in these discussions."
And this is the kind of clueless bullshit running the Pentagon. Absolutely unbelievable.
There is a civil servant somewhere who knows that the setting up of that VIP lane delayed getting PPE to hospitals. This must have happened because they ignored existing suppliers. There will be an exact line from those delays to deaths.
You scratch your head. A dozen years on from the currency farrago of 2014, an exposing gaffe for which YES took a severe Britstate beating, and flying squarely in the face of all expert advice on the indispensability of a central bank issuing its own currency, John Swinney arrives at this. You might weep for the timidity of it:
โAnd always keep a-hold of Nurse
For fear of finding something worse.โ
โ Hilaire Bellocโs cautionary tale: โJim, Who ran away from his Nurse, and was eaten by a Lionโ.
Even when there IS nothing worse. Or more foolish. Or more referendum-sabotaging. Although, of course, you might ask 'what referendum?' It's belt and braces scuppering of the scuppered.
Media in Scotland never alert Scots to three facts re. drug abuse: 1. Many of the drug deaths are poverty related & can be traced back to the Thatcher years. 2. English County Lines drug gangs are flooding Scotland with drugs. 3. Drugs abuse is a matter 'reserved' to Westminster.
There is a legal case to prosecute members of Boris Johnsonโs government for misconduct in public office. There is evidence that they negligently contributed to the deaths of tens of thousands in care homes. I want to know why there is no prosecution ongoing. Why?
JD Vance YESTERDAY: "We have underestimated Iran and we spent $30 billion on war."
Obama TODAY: "All this to stop a nuke that didnโt exist and to open a Strait that wasnโt closed."
Should an independent Scotland seriously consider joining the 21 other countries of the world which have no military at all and use the money on fixing the potholes, funding schools, the NHS and other services far more generously instead?
