@McDonnellDan Great book Dan, having grown up in Creggan in one of the Heights’ footballing rival streets much of the early chapters resonate with my experiences of life there. Derry as a whole, a truly unique place.
Working class communities organised from below forced every institution in this place to move. That's a lesson that should never be forgotten. This crisis has also exposed the utter failure of ruling class unionism to deliver.
As a 'real' resident i have zero interest listening to a woman who has called me and my family Rabble, Thugs and part of a mob whilst standing side by side with Jamie Bryson.
France. Italy. Belgium. Sweden. Catalonia. Basque Country. Germany. Spain. Galicia.
MEPs from across Europe have signed a letter in support of the people of the Garvaghy Road, calling for any attempt to force an Orange march through the community to be stopped.
Support for the people of the Garvaghy Road is growing across Ireland and around the world.
Go raibh maith agat to Sinn Féin MEP Kathleen Funchion for helping to secure more solidarity for the people of the Garvaghy Road on the international stage.
The PSNI’s utter capitulation thus far to Sinn Fein & the republican rabble is raising serious issues for power sharing, the rule of law & confidence in policing.
What have they been doing all day?
It’s time to enforce the law!
'Get that thing down'
The Secretary of State encountered a factory girl on Londonderry's Peace Bridge during his first visit to the city.
Retired shirt factory worker Margaret McMonagle told Chris Bryant she was unhappy with a £187,000 statue erected in honor of industry workers.
Factories staffed mostly by women once made Derry a powerhouse in the global textile industry.
The exchange between the pair remained good-natured and lighthearted.
Derry City and Strabane District Council said they "engaged extensively" with the public and representatives about the sculpture.
They said it’s disappointing that some within the factory girls group felt excluded from the "very open and transparent exercise" and they are "always happy to meet" with them to discuss any concerns.
@DeeCurran1 I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment here. I do think the club could capitalise on it a lot more or manage it to have maximum impact. It links back to some of the wider issues at the club in my view. Too much to be detailing during this exhausting week of circusry.
@LOICentralPod Not having a go by any means, genuinely interested. How much of the James story r.e contract termination and plans to continue to training has come via Dan?
At last!
138 days too late for any chance of turning the season around.
No doubt some mental stories to become public from the reign of terror.
Big month ahead to avoid being dragged into a relegation playoff…🇵🇪
