If it’s gonna happen this winter, early January probably is our shot.

It’s way too early to discuss realistic winter weather chances after the turn to 2025, but the pattern could come together to support cold and some precip.

The Euro ensemble 500mb upper air pattern (so far, this data can change) loosely resembles the open to January 2011.

The opening days of December will likely be the coldest for Arkansas since 2018.

Data for 7-day temperature anomalies after Thanksgiving range from 8 to 12 degrees below the average.

The average for the time of year is highs in the upper 50s, lows in the 30s.

I expect we'll see several days with highs in the 40s and lows that will be below freezing.

Temperatures should rebound by the end of the first week of December! #ARWX
