So honoured to be shortlisted for Public Servant of the year @SocietyGuardian@guardian Public Service Awards. Getting the red carpet treatment with my amazing Manager! @SusieMaguire12
One of the very best! Wise, kind and determined, small but mighty, @jeaniekerr is one of the very best public servants in West Yorkshire. Calderdale was lucky to have her. We will miss her leadership. Thank you for everything Jane! https://t.co/6Cwww1MD2I

The specialist workforce designed to support them has been neglected and shrunk.
There are only around 3,000 learning disability nurses https://t.co/zujRFQ0wri
This makes for uncomfortable reading from @RoyLilley today roughly one specialist nurse for every 430 people with a learning disability, meaning…
… one solo nurse looking after the equivalent of two thirds of the patients in an average district general hospital @jimgblair
The lack of a proper LD nurse training plan has been like watching a car crash in slow motion. LD nurses are special people and their skill passion and expertise is greatly needed. Some universities can no longer train because of sustainability. Personally I think it’s tragic.

Delighted to support #LDWeek. The theme this year is "Do you see me?" which is all about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued. This week think about what YOU can do to help people with learning disability be seen, heard and valued @NHSEngland@NHSAbility
I'd love to celebrate LD Nursing careers but experts worn by 2028 universities will have shut down all the courses! Please get this to the attention of policy makers so this doesn't happen. Sign and share our petition to halt this decline!

When I came to London while Johnson was Mayor, as soon as I arrived at King’s Cross from up north I’d have difficulty breathing.
What a difference it is now thanks to Sadiq Khan having the bottle to implement the ULEZ scheme.
He deserves his knighthood for that alone.
