@AntonioMango4 The culture of Chelsea at the current time, talented but young players, without natural leaders, and on long term contracts is a poor model and would intimidate many managers.
Alonso has a significant task on his hands.
@AntonioMango4 In addition to remaining question marks over the financial future of the club.
Villa, under Emery, are likely to continue to progress and provide consistency.
Also there is the benefit of improving under the tutelage of Unai Emery..
@MagicPuddingDi@SamuelVimes10 That’s the way I would do it.
Although ‘Thanks for your support and understanding’ is also a phrase I would consider using.
@VillArchie7_2@_stonyd It could perhaps be sold to a developing young player, but it’s a difficult balance with the most ambitious young players usually being the better players too.
Felt so sorry for Malen last season, and Barkley this one. (especially as senior players)
@Alex_Berwick@_stonyd Retaining the spine of the team is so so critical.
Thankfully we’ve been able to do this for a while now.
Also after this season in particular, I think it’s crystallised most fans view on who are the most valuable/difficult to replace players within the team.
@mgmatt1983@dan_villafan It was a great team. Very likeable players too.
Yorke (and Ollie) were the best strikers we had over the last 30 years imv.
In fact we had some fab teams from the Atkinson-Little Gregory era.
@mgmatt1983@dan_villafan I do remember Yorke was a real gut wrencher.
Quite a few kids with Grealish shirts had to struggle with that one.
Not to be melodramatic, but in some ways it’s life preparation for adult grief .
Too early to say Birmingham Council is ungovernable. But definitely needs to be a fundamental & urgent overhaul in the way it’s governed. Including a huge shift towards localisation. Whoever ends up running the Council could bring all political Groups together to consider this…
