I miss @ZachLowe_NBA.
No League Pass Rankings and no Most Intriguing Players columns. Those were preseason staples. Sad that we aren't getting them this year.
Christmas break ~2004, pitchfork's main page had a link to a chat room where Ryan would be "DJing". I asked about the next @thewrens album and he played "I've Made Enough Friends". Later he played "Us" by Regina Spektor. A wonderful time to be a music fan on the internet.
Welp… it happened. My time @pitchfork is being brought to an end, as it was announced today that the publication is being folded into GQ. It’s been the honor of my life to have worked here for the past 18-and-a-half (!) years…
This is just like that time in Muppets Take Manhattan when the Muppets, after unsuccessfully attempting to take Manhattan, split up and leave Manhattan.
It's in moments like these where I picture Steve Nash reading this on his phone on a beach somewhere, cracking open a beer, and leaning back in his chair with a wry smile on his face.
I try not to chicken little TOO much about the State of Things re: cinema, but the number of people talking about a *Steven Spielberg* movie like it’s a rarefied arthouse bonbon that only a wannabe sophisticate could like…grim!
