If you ever cycle on the road, you know that potholes are a real problem. The UK backlog on pothole repair is up to 14 years now, so they're here to stay! Make sure you know how to safely and easily navigate them 🕳️ https://t.co/SUHXNlVXKf
@HighwaysEngland Indeed! So, don’t do it! Perfectly reasonable! But, could we please have at least some of the fine money to repair a desperate situation with UK roads? Who is going to address this, even more important, issue? #potholes
@potholesuk Call this filling a pothole? It appeared by our drive on returning from holiday. It'll never last. I give it a couple of months then it will be worse than ever. Our terrible roads are 3rd world. Disgraceful!
https://t.co/SP00q7Nvyy The pothole problem: what can be done?: A report published in March states that councils face a £556m funding shortfall to tackle the UK's pothole problem.
@GColepeafarmer @Crashingtv Search "pothole" and join the community in the UK, potholes have been the result of cyclists deaths and serious injury along with damage to motorcyclists, cars etc and how to claim for the damage caused
#guerrillasurveying this pothole exceeds the councils tolerances and should have been repaired within days of being sprayed up but it has been ignored. Reported now on @mycountycouncil street doctor so I expect it, and the others, repaired pronto!
Total roads maintenance backlog across UK for carriageways, Footways, Drainage, Bridges & Structures etc is over £30 billion I believe. Well under half reported cost of HS2. Biggest government white elephant in history! @CommonsTrans

Maybe not 3rd World roads yet, however could be in future with continued lack of investment. I know @MATatBucks@MarkShaw43 are trying to do their best with limited funds. Why @CommonsTrans inquiry is so important @LilianGreenwood

Routine maintenance & work to fix many of the potholes on Wirral’s 1,100km road network is well underway & improving the quality of our highways. Wirral has been given around £2.5m from @LpoolCityRegion to carry out a structured programme in 2018-19

Every MP will have had correspondence like this, sent in the small hours of the morning.
“The pothole on the corner of Acacia Av & Willow St is an issue of great political significance. I am copying in the BBC Political Editor, I am sure she will want to report on your answer.”
Today my team and I are out and about in Largs speaking to people about the #saveourroads campaign, calling on the launch of a £100M pothole action fund to deal with the 1 in 3 roads in Scotland which are in need of repair. Enough is enough I say! https://t.co/hWPGsNDtoM
Maybe they could come to Perthshire and campaign to save our roads from a chaotic Tory Council who changed the policy on potholes and made things 10 times worse.
