Maybe that’s enlightenment enough: to know there is no final resting place of the mind; no moment of smug clarity. Perhaps wisdom is realizing how small I am.
He can say this and still pound on communism, because he practices the worst kind of totalitarianism - where words have no meaning anymore. He is a very dangerous man.
Breaking news: President Trump reported more than $1.4 billion in income from crypto, digital tokens and related partnerships in 2025, appearing to have substantially increased his income after reentering the White House last year. https://t.co/ldkyI2VbE3
.@jonathanvswan: "Trump is essentially beyond the reach of the law in terms of actions...Trump has told senior advisers in the Oval Office that he's going to pardon anyone who came within 250 feet of the Oval Office...I don't think they feel any real concern about illegality."
Elias's comparison is the one worth sitting with. When Bill Clinton briefly boarded Loretta Lynch's plane on a Phoenix tarmac in 2016 and they talked about grandchildren and golf - no documented request, no documented outcome, a conversation - the media treated it as a scandal that required weeks of coverage. Trump stood at a podium in Pennsylvania, described personally calling a federal prosecutor to investigate an election while his preferred candidate was losing, and the Pennsylvania federal prosecutor was sitting in the audience being publicly thanked. Elias: none of the reporters present found this worthy of a question.
The normalization that allows that to happen is not benign. When the president describes using the federal prosecution apparatus to intervene in a state election and it registers as a moment of rally color rather than a constitutional question, the mechanism that would otherwise produce accountability has been eroded. That erosion is itself the story underneath the story.
Vance recognizes that the Watergate break-in is like a cub scout prank compared to the massive, all-encompassing corruption and criminality of the Trump presidency.
I hope Megyn Kelly's grandchildren watch this video, on a school trip through the museum built to teach future generations of Americans about the moral depravity of the Trump era.
@KillerMike I was 16 living in London. My best friend in the states sent me two CDs - AZ and Jay Z. I listened to Reasonable Doubt on repeat. I even tried to dress for prom like Jay was on the album cover. 😝
Admiral (ret.) William H. McRaven: "In recent months, President Trump, upon advice from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, has relieved or forced the retirement of some of the finest officers that have ever served this nation."

Today on Anthony Bourdain’s birthday, let’s honor Tony by sharing a meal…with a friend or with a stranger…and making sure they’re okay. @wckitchen we are honoring him in a way by being next to the people of Venezuela after the earthquakes. Sharing food and hope. #BourdainDay
Reaves’ future is settled. The Lakers have re-signed the guard after Luka Dončić made it clear he wanted Reaves to stay. Good on AR! NBA money insane. “Larry Bird earned approx. $24 million in on-court salary during his 13-year career with the Boston.” https://t.co/GhNOvLSM4Q
Trump has turned the White House into a 24/7 corruption operation. This is a national crisis.
Trump thinks the public will stop paying attention.
So I went to the Senate floor to call his bluff. I told the ENTIRE STORY of his 500 days of corruption.

Bill Maher mocked the Obama Presidential Center as a billion-dollar monument to ego. Ro Khanna had the better answer.
"It's a unique story of the possibility in this country of someone who had no shot. When I was in law school, they said to me, your Indian-American, you're of Hindu faith. Go to the Capital because you'll never get elected to anything. And then Barack Obama happened, and he changed the direction of this nation for millions of people."
