@jjstyx 3. Currently trees are being brought out of hazard areas. Major RX burns have been done in sequoia groves in sequoia and Yosemite and in Yosemite valley. So please check your facts.
@jjstyx 2. There are large areas of bug kill pines in the central Sierra that made fires such as Creek and KNP worse and hard to suppress. There are still large areas of these trees that pose a hazard and are not accessible and are not suitable for harvesting as they are dead
@jjstyx Yosemite has been actively conducting RX burns for over 50 years non stop. And allowing natural lightning fires to enhance the ecosystem system in areas that are fire dependent in the wilderness. 1
@CALFIRE_CHIEF@GovPressOffice@WadeCrowfoot@CAL_FIRE What about all the federal agencies and crews involved in this effort. Not all of those 110,00 strikes occurred on state DPA its a true interagency effort on all fires regardless of jurisdiction. USFS, NPS and BLM have had their share of this have the same goal the state does

Ten years ago three U.S. @forestservice firefighters were entrapped by the Twisp River Fire in north-central Washington and died.
We remember and honor them and their great sacrifice. Our thoughts go out to the survivors, family and friends whose lives were forever changed.
HONORING OUR FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS OF THE SPANISH RANCH FIRE: On August 15, 1979, the crew of CDF Engine 5373 bravely responded to the Spanish Ranch Fire. Fire Captain Ed Marty and Firefighters Ron Laurent, Steve Manley, and Scott Cox made the ultimate sacrifice, leading to the adoption of fire shelters that protect firefighters to this day. #NeverForgotten #46Years #CDF5373
Today we #HonorThroughLearning and reflect on the loss of Captain Brian Hughes who was a member of the NPS Arrowhead Interagency Hotshot Crew. Brian was struck by a snag during removal on July 29, 2018. #NeverForgotten
