@Google@youtubetv I recently had to change my phone number. Trying to login to my account to change payment information for YouTube TV, and I’m stuck on this maddening message. You’re going to verify my NEW phone number by texting my OLD number which doesn’t exist?
How?
I think this is a similar argument (and fear) that occurred when digital cameras, Macromedia, Adobe, CMS and blogs commoditized everything creative. Sure. More people have taken these things in house. But to Jason’s point, the experts learned these tools, used the talent, taste and knowledge they already had, and are still being hired and thriving.
Grandma, with her copy of Photoshop and hobbiest past time with it didn’t take any jobs.
Basecamp and the like has a great opportunity to build customization features through AI to provide bespoke needs for those who need it.
@jasonfried I recently had to change my ID and phone number on an existing phone. Trying to get everything reconnected (just in most apps, and bank accounts, not including my home) is like starting over from 0. Way too complicated.
To leave someone only an acronym after they pass is a horrible practice. That it’s RIP is even worse. If you can’t write out Rest in Peace or Power, then don’t even bother.
All of the desirable people - the ones that you actually want to work with, spend time with, or date - won’t apply for the job.
They have to be identified from afar and hunted down.
Congrats to Joe Gebbia on becoming the first Chief Design Officer of the United States. In this newly created role, Joe will oversee the redesign of roughly 26,000 federal web portals, many of which are obsolete, so they better serve social security recipients, veterans, and all citizens.
As a former cofounder of @Airbnb, @jgebbia could have done anything next but decided to volunteer his time and expertise to public service. Thank you Joe.
And thank you to President Trump for creating this new function by executive order and continuing to attract the best talent from the private sector to join his administration. It’s an honor to be part of!
I like watching the show Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted. It follows the chef to remote areas where he’s challenged to hunt and cook using local methods.
The philosophy of each episode: the most delectable food sources come at the highest price of acquisition.
True of most everything.
Found this little obsolete relic of history while decluttering yesterday. It appears to be taking a charge. Looking forward to see if it’ll still play.
