cool use case of chatgpt work i heard last night:
connect your family calendars and explain your kids' interests.
every morning for the drive to school, have it make a podcast that talks about one kid's soccer game that afternoon, one kid's upcoming birthday, some news, etc.
Seeing Series A/B companies run ads on Facebook and Instagram, promoting their recent fundraise. Creative is 100% about the round too.
Nothing converts like telling strangers how much money you have.
@kamilrextin I know the signal can be effective when you have accurate data AND a reason to reach out other than “hey, saw you changed jobs!”.
Just don’t see it executed very well whenever I’ve been on the receiving end of it.
@kamilrextin Hard agree on all of this. for #3 - how are you using AI to edit/challenge your thinking?
I definitely ship AI generated work... as long as I put in the work and poke holes in whatever I'm handing off.
I also try to shorten everything as much as I possibly can.
14 years as a W-2 employee: I thought I was ELITE at time management.
One month into going full-time solo: turns out it's the #1 skill when you work for yourself. And I'm not nearly as good at it as I thought... yet.
You don't have anyone else to blame for your calendar.
@pranavpiyush Primarily Slack, then:
- Async Monday update with where I'm pointed for the week, what shipped last week, and what I need from them
- One weekly 1:1 working session (45 minutes)
- Ad-hoc calls on as needed
I went two days without sending a client anything. Started to feel like I went into hiding.
Nothing was actually "due." Just me putting pressure on myself (I'm good at this) to show progress.
I felt that from the outside, those two days looked like nothing happened over here.
So I sent the "share before ready" versions. Shipping at 70% so it at least looked like things were moving.
Then I waited on feedback. And waited. So I kept shipping.
And that's how I ended up too far down the wrong path before anyone said anything.
How are others working through this?
@dave_christison It’s been a GREAT qualification/disqualification filter on my intro calls too.
Founders that understand why it makes sense to start here first = huge green flag
