There aren’t words strong enough to describe the cowardice and depravity of a “military” that will methodically execute medical workers, bury them in mass graves, and tell the NYT the vehicles were “advancing suspiciously” without lights on. Before hiding the bodies in a mass grave, they forgot to grab the cell phone of one of the medics who recorded his own assassination for the world to see — if it cares.

After 49 years in prison, Native American activist Leonard Peltier, 80, is granted clemency allowing him to go home. This comes after a decades-long international campaign for his freedom.

Over 120 tribal leaders put pressure on Biden to grant clemency to Peltier as one of his final acts in office. Peltier was the longest-held political prisoner in the country.
