Apocalypse Now is one of the greatest movies ever made. In my opinion, it’s one of the most remarkable pieces of artistic expression ever made. It was proper madness! It might be the movie I watch more than any other movie every year.

It was released on this day in 1979. It had Brando, Martin Sheen, the insane GOAT Dennis Hopper, Robert Duvall, and EVEN Harrison Ford.
In the company of all those greats, we saw a kid deliver a standout performance. That kid went on to become a great of his own. Laurence Fishburne played a 17-year-old soldier. Except Laurence was way younger than that.

I’ll never forget the day he told me about his career being launched with the lie he told Francis Ford Coppola.
