This year, reading the Declaration of Independence hit a little different. I started to ask myself, “what about this is so special?” and why do people call America an “experiment or an ideal”?

I’m not saying I have the answer to this, but I love this country and I noticed an analogy to kaizen (which is one of my favorite things!). First - the part where certain truths are self-evident. That people have the right to pursue happiness and safety and that their government exists to ensure this is true. That should it become destructive of these rights, it should be altered.

This is no small thing. It means that no matter what future environment the idea of America may find itself in, it will by definition honor the dignity and freedom of those within it. That the people themselves are the ones responsible for ensuring this. I think that there are microcosms of this same dynamic in many other enterprises (none as great as our United States). Kind of like kaizen isn’t an event, it’s a way of being… I think America is a way of being. A code we operate by.

I think this principle permeates into the most spectacular parts of our culture, fueling incredible achievements. I see this in our businesses and our factories. I have so much respect for the people who fight the small battles every day in the factory floor. Sometimes, their oppressors are their own systems. Maybe this is why I am, as an American, so naturally drawn to this fight. It’s why when I see a planner with 40 years of experience manually creating excel files for his team, I see a Patriot. (I’ll leave out the fact that I love how AI is suddenly capable of providing this person with the right to bear arms!)

Anyway, maybe this analogy is a stretch. I don’t think America is just a flag or just a government. I think it’s all of us who believe in it and live in its ideal. I am proud to be an American 🇺🇸 let’s have the courage to carry this forward another 250 years into whatever future comes next.

I think I might have just 'hired' a team of agentic rapid response engineers. I love this new refactor, its so much faster and more capable. Wanted to share this little demonstration!

Next steps here would be to really get into rapid customer response. Andons and feature requests that come from you should show up on your screen, and when they are investigated, responded to, resolved - you should be notified immediately. And this should all happen quickly. Customer (or agent!) pain is important to understand and resolve transparently and with urgency! Agents can help us do that.

I love cursor. The thing that bothers me most is that I need to be at a PC to use it. I think there should be as aspect of mobile or voice first use that persists between sessions.

I use cursor on a Mac mini, usually ssh’d from different clients. Each client has its own distinct set of agents. The agents should be attached to the repo, not the client.
