@gpackiam You as well. I genuinely appreciate you Glenn, and I hope you heard no snark in my comment... โค๏ธ It was meant in good fun. I just thought about the confusion and overlap of roles that comes from having multiple staff, and thought that would be a nice problem to have. ๐
@KatelynBeaty There's a huge house on I-5 in Seattle that has a huge sign declaring "Science is God," and I always think "Science doesn't even think science is God." But alas.
@jr_briggs Recently had to clarify in an elder meeting that our church doesn't actually value differences of opinion. What we value is remaining connected while having differences of opinion.
@DerwinLGray Love it. This is why labeling things as "salvation issues" or not a "salvation issue" doesn't really work. It's all salvation. And all grace.
@graceisforyou Hi Grace. I agree that these tweets you've rounded up are troubling, as is the current movement of our government to interfere in free speech. It's a bad move no matter which "side" is in power. I'm not sure how any of this is enjoyable.
@drantbradley @HKretzer31299 There's so much that we do that's "unbiblical" in this sense. But that doesn't make it necessarily bad. I agree we need to examine inherited practices, but I see great benefit to the whole church when we read from the Jesus Storybook Bible to the kids, and the adults listen in.
โIn a hundred years, if Christians are known as a strange group of people who don't kill their children and don't kill the elderly, we will have done a great thing.โ

@AleahMarsden@jeremy_engbers@EricJDirksen@BenGresik I value the institutional structure that a denomination is supposed to provide. I need accountability, support, colleagues, etc. But I wonder whether the current ones we have are best suited for the moment, whether we need new "wineskins."
@casethorp I'd like to hear "The Final Countdown" sung at your funeral. Oh did you mean *my* funeral?
I have different thoughts for that.
I love the hymn "Hallelujah, What a Savior." We sung it at our wedding. I'd like that sung at my funeral.
@Andy35o @courtneyellis This post did make me wonder about the John Belushi rule. I think it mostly has to do with being alone with donuts.
