Ai is consistently and absurdly bad at one thing, I've found, and that's writing good lyrics or poetry. It's not just bad, it's actually cringeworthy.

I find my get self getting more and more irritated at closed source software now because I can either vibe code my own version of it, or because I'm not able to just add the feature with ai like I can with an open source version.

@ThePrimeagen I got into it because I wanted to build stuff. The coding was a means, not the goal. I might enjoy the little intellectual challenges that come along with writing code, but that's not the reason I got into it. It has freed me up to challenge my brain in other ways.

@dhh I used claude code to configure my nixos box and I've had the same experience. I'll never go back to fussing with this kind of stuff by hand again.
