A startup called Span builds them, backed by Nvidia.

I’ve driven multiple vehicles over 25 years to high mileage and diagnosed their issues myself along the way. Headaches and anxiety.
Here’s what what we all know: gas engines are incredibly complex — but most of that complexity exists because the systems controlling them aren’t smart enough to compensate in real time.
AI changes that equation completely.
A true AI management layer could monitor every variable continuously, predict failures before they happen, self-tune as the engine ages, and strip away the mechanical band-aids that exist only because the software isn’t smart enough. Imagine ai can diagnose a sound frequency and know with certainty that the water pump has 20 hours of run time before it fails and causes overheating and you don’t get stuck suddenly on the side of the road at 3 am.
The combustion engine has barely progressed since its inception.
Simpler engine. Smarter controls. Longer life. Less to go wrong. When will AI create a perfectly designed combustion chamber. Less parts, better metal, perfecting combustion to power.
The last 10 years mpg has barely improved. Let’s improve it already.
We didn’t make computers smaller by adding more parts. We made them smarter. Compute power is accelerating where engines and gas are being mediocre.
Same principle applies here. Diagnosing mechanical issues should be obsolete. AI should tell us what exactly is wrong, what exactly will fail in 200 miles from now.

some companies that be interested. With the people who are tragically killed in the subway system by mentally ill people. Set up Ai cameras to catch…. 1. People falling on the tracks and instantly shut down the track. 2. Observe odd behavior and/ or mentally ill persons and alert first responders to someone in need of medical or psychological help. Too many people die specifically in NYC transit system.
