This point isn’t even whether it’s a foul or not. The point is how the leader of a country is able to overturn an on-field decision by the referee because he doesn’t agree with it! It’s crazy. So should other leaders put calls through to Gianni Infantino whenever they don’t like a decision? The mask is fully off the face of FIFA now. What a joke! The whole World Cup and the organisation of it has been a complete farce. By the way, it’s a flipping foul! It’s debatable whether it should have been a red card or not. It’s important to understand the difference between the UK of the 80s and 90s and the UK of today. The credit rating system was not what it is today. Data was not what it is today. It was certainly not the automated, algorithm driven system we have now. You could absolutely secure a loan based on a good relationship with your bank and a solid business plan. Bank managers had the authority to use their discretion when reviewing applications at branch level. I don’t know about Obi’s personal circumstances, so I can’t speak on that. But one could absolutely secure a startup loan based on intellectual capital, especially if you had some level of physical collateral.
