Profiling a laser technician/single mother of two, who’s life didn’t go as plan. She does everything and anything she can to support her children on her own, even if it means working endlessly.“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” #marksaplang
There is importance in everyday writing.Diaries, letters, and even text messages, can help preserve, document and analysis how people lived. Unveiling a personal and meaningful view of the historical time. #marksaplang
@KS_MarksAPLang Short intros are fine in a timed write scenario. I'd rather have a 2-sent intro (including thesis) than see you waste time just repeating the prompt #aplangchat If you have a clever way to get into a prompt, great, but don't stress over that. Focus on developing your argument
@maggiacomoalexa The exam is shying away from lesser-known devices/genres and focusing more on ones that permeate many text types across time - metaphor, imagery, symbolism, irony, satire, parallel structure, declaratives, pronoun shifts, tone, syntax/diction, etc. #marksaplang#aplangchat
Yes, you are trying to add up correct answers, not trying to get every answer correct. DO NOT STARE AT QUESTIONS THAT BAFFLE YOU. Guess, move on, go back later if you have time. Go with what you know. #aplangchat#marksaplang
This aplang chat has been very helpful in so many ways. Thank you to all the teachers that gave me such great advice! I will use everything I learned from this chat !!! #aplangchat#MarksAPLang

@cat_cal To Kill a Mockingbird, The Crucible, Outliers, Civil Rights Mvmt, Revolutionary War, Social Media movements such as #metoo I had a former student score a 5 writing about Kung Fu Panda. #aplangchat
@delaneydoddato Intros can be short, sweet, and to the point. In a timed writing, we'd rather see a short 2-3 sentence intro with a thesis, and have you have more time to spend developing your argument. #aplangchat

@MsWakeman_ELA Thank you Ms. Wakeman, this is something I struggle on sometimes. But now that you put it like that, I will use your advice to be able to revise my essays and make them better.
