The environment has never been a hotter topic for #AsiaPacific 🥵
This World Environment Day, we need to support the environmental defenders who've been protecting our landscapes for ages, in order to truly restore the land🌏

Seats at the Kerameikos metro station. Kerameikos in ancient Athena used to be a potter's district, and the word "ceramic" actually comes from this place.
#Athens: here we come!
A diverse array of alumni from around the world are gearing up for a long-awaited gathering at @panteion University!
Nearly 50 graduates from the seven GC regional Master’s programmes will convene to delve into discussions centred around #ClimateJustice and the Rights of #FutureGenerations.
Across a span of three days, the focus will be on exploring socio-political perspectives and exchanging insights about bottom-up initiatives developed by the 7 GC regional alumni associations: from the role of Civil Society Organisations in the Arab World, to advocating for a research and advocacy centre in #Africa; from promoting education for climate justice in Latin America and the Asia Pacific to outreach efforts for beginners.
EMA Alumna Penny Papaspyropoulou has assembled an impressive panel of local experts from academia and NGOs. Titled “Greece in the fight for Climate Justice and Child Rights - Youth Participation_Stories from the field,” this panel promises illuminating insights. Alumni will also meet NikosChrysogelos, Deputy Mayor of Athens for Climate Governance & Social Economy.
Excitement is palpable as we anticipate this enriching exchange of ideas!

Sharing this piece I wrote for the @gchumanrights Preparedness section on how COP 28 failed to address the challenges of the climate crisis and protect human rights.
Watch our for more takes in the coming months! 📷
🌎 Hopes were high that COP 28 might be a game-changer against the climate crisis. A closer look at the outcomes of the climate summit, however, say otherwise❕

2023 is the warmest year on record, at 1.43C above the pre-industrial average. We're almost at the tipping point. #climatecrisis#climatechange
