For the most up to date announcements about Marlin and promotional reposts of your amazing #3Dprinting and #DIY projects follow us on #Bluesky and #Mastodon!
We will continue to post here but with lower priority and less gusto.
Robots are 3D printing full-size ship hulls.
ใ ค
CEADโs Faber Navalis system uses robotic arms to print complete marine hulls up to 12 m long and 4 m wide in a single automated runโno molds, no segmentation, and no heavy manual assembly.
ใ ค
A 12-meter RIB-style prototype for the Royal Dutch Navy was printed in 8 days, tested during NATOโs BOMA exercise, and sailed for four days with the Navy in Den Helder. Traditional delivery timelines for similar vessels often run into years.
ใ ค
The hulls use glass-fiber-reinforced HDPro, roughly 10% lighter than comparable fiberglass while offering higher impact resistance than standard HDPE, plus UV stability and recyclability. Primary targets are USVs, RIBs, workboats, and patrol craft.

I think people underestimate what soaking in a subject matter for years does to your ability to solve problems in it.
I started HueForge without an inkling of color theory or of the variety of color models out there. I had NO idea how hard it would be to get a computer to tell two colors apart.
Now - with the help of coding tools and over 3 years of work in the space - I can solve problems in hours that I just didn't have a framework to solve in the past at all. It was the earned expertise that suddenly makes old, intractable problems, well, easy to formulate and solve.
None of my coding agents have ever suggested these solutions, the quality of the request for complex tasks is super important, but without them, I would not be able to experiment and develop novel solutions (well novel to me) to problems that my user's have had for years. It's a crazy new world in software, but experience still matters a WHOLE lot.
@The_Real_BTCB_ The Simulator has been a component of Marlin for a few years, running on Mac/Windows/Linux. Recently it got these nice upgrades to make it a useful tool in the automated development loop. Iโve used it with Hermes and Claude Code and find it indispensable for testing and analysis.
We get a lot more submissions of code by #agents lately, and also a marked improvement in quality and comprehension.
But to code Marlin properly they need more!
Tell yours to use the Simulator with http agent interface (and new visualizations).

So cool to see our merch out in the wild and being put to good use! Itโs a classic collection for a limited time. But follow and stay tuned for upcoming new 2027 designs! https://t.co/Qf7c4ZP8gg
I made some small chocolate ice cream sodas for my parents and I. It is basically just soda water and icecream. I made the soda water with my @SodaStreamUSA. Since I used chocolate ice cream I didn't need the chocolate syrup.
I am eating mine in my @MarlinFirmware mug.๐
@DeenHarr Build the binary configured any way you want, then upload is a separate step. Boards of a given architecture can Flash any well-formed binary for that architecture. We encourage remixing and keep no board database nor validation process to prevent users freely reassigning pins.
Thanks to contributor StevilKnevil for contributing a useful new "Download" button to Auto Build Marlin.

Thanks to @AnthropicAI for hooking us up with a generous allowance of Claude Max 20x and to @github for Copilot!
In our interactive sessions with Opus 5 and GPT 5.6 Luna weโre doing incredible things, building tools, closing issues, making improvements in record time.

The dream team at Virginia Tech thought: why not?
They built an automated plate changer for Voron printers that actually picks up finished plates, store the prints, and place a fresh plate back on for the next print. That's pretty cool! ๐๐จ๏ธ
With their WorkCell system, the whole workflow runs with minimal supervision, from one print to the next.
And what a treat it was to see our BIQU CryoGrip Pro Buildplate featured in this genius setup. ๐
This is where DIY gets interestingโwhen "what if?" turns into "why not?"

I'm recovering the original code and assets of a little #Amiga game I wrote for Capstone in 1989, "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure."
It should be fun to remaster!
I spent an intensive 40 hours with #Hermes and Ghidra to get most of the way there!

@loyalmoses Itโs a testament to the fact that 3D printers have become just another tool in our workshops and labs. The printer is no longer the exciting bit โ unless youโre building your own. We love seeing people in all walks of life using their RepRaps to make cool and useful things!
@ModBotArmy@Siboor3dprinter If the board in there can run FT Motion (latest refinements in bugfix-2.1.x) that can help to smooth out the motion somewhat without sacrificing speed or sharp corners.
