Country music legend Dolly Parton has died, just over a year after the death of her husband, Carl Dean, with whom she shared more than six decades of marriage.

Parton, who largely kept her personal life private, often spoke fondly of Dean during interviews over the years. Announcing her passing, her nephew, Bryan Seaver, said she had “lived in the light” and was now reunited with Dean, her parents and others in heaven.
