„Merz muss weg!“: Großdemo in Plauen für Rücktritt der Regierung und Neuwahlen!

Im sächsischen Plauen fand am Samstag (8.August) eine Groß-Kundgebung gegen die Politik der Bundesregierung statt. Unter dem Motto „Merz muss weg“ waren nach Angaben der überparteilichen Organisatoren rund 10.000 Teilnehmer im Vogtland erwartet worden. Viele Menschen trugen Deutschlandfahnen.

Die Demonstranten forderten unter anderem den Rücktritt des Kabinetts und Neuwahlen, niedrigere Abgaben auf Strom und Gas sowie eine Reform des öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunks. Zudem verlangten sie die sofortige Ausweisung aller verurteilten, straffälligen und illegalen Migranten.

Die Protestler sehen sich in der Tradition der DDR-Bürgerrechtsbewegung. In Plauen fand Anfang Oktober 1989 die erste Großdemonstration gegen das SED-Regime statt, die von der Staatsmacht nicht mehr aufgelöst werden konnte.

Before the rivers learned their songs,

Each spirit lived within one circle,
no life above and none below.
The smallest seed, the tallest cedar—
all shared the breath the four winds blow.

Beneath the shell, the old drum sounded,
slow as thunder under stone.
It spoke the names of all our relations,
reminding every heart: none walks alone.

And when the stars return to darkness,
the Turtle turns toward sacred dawn—
carrying the dreams of every creature,
even after their footprints are gone.
