I remember a ballot initiative in Washington State in 2004 (I-884, the "penny tax increase" for schools). Polls showed it neck-in-neck all the way up to election day, when voters rejected it 60%-40%. I've never really trusted polls since. Just vote. Don't let anyone manipulate you into giving up your equal share in the decision.
I’ve been sounding the alarms that the polls are WRONG — and the evidence is now piling up! The implications of this are huge.
As FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said yesterday: “During this election season, there has been a significant surge in entirely Fake Polls and Suppression Polls designed to do nothing more than interfere with the regular functioning of the electoral process and alter the normal patterns of voter turnout and enthusiasm.”
Every American patriot needs to ignore the “experts” and vote their values! https://t.co/mys294JC8i
Three initiatives on the ballot right now in Washington state will impact your life directly — and the lives of your friends, neighbors, and children. Each poses deeply important moral questions. Each will impose or revoke laws that have deeply moral implications (for better or worse).
Do you know what they are? Are you prepared to make an informed, principled decision on these important questions?
Do you know anything about the people vying for elected jobs that will give them immense power over all our lives?
If you're a pastor, have you encouraged your congregation to look into these questions?
Most of us like to think we're compassionate — ready to act to bless others, fill needs, and relieve suffering. Good. But the laws and policies imposed by governments (at every level) have tremendous power to bless or curse the lives of the people subject to them.
Here in the United States, every citizen has an equal privilege and duty to affirm or oppose the laws that will shape all our lives. You think politics are too ugly? Then you had better get involved. Failing to participate isn't a neutral act, it's a neglected duty.
Want to relieve human suffering? Yes, please do! And stop ignoring the policies and politicians that will make or relieve so much of it.
Pursue truth and wisdom, then wield it and vote.
James 4:17
Dirty secrets are sometimes revealed by police body cam footage: Here, officers investigate an overdose death inside a homeless housing shelter managed by Compass Housing Alliance in Auburn, WA, and staff admit substance abuse inside is rampant and accepted. More lives will be lost by Seattle Mayor Wilson's decision to double down on "housing first" as the solution to a crisis driven largely by addiction.
@StriderkingV It's a tough problem to fix, because humans are complex, willful, sometimes weak, and often driven by whatever is least uncomfortable in the moment. But also: so worth it.
NEW: Reality is starting to set in for WA voters.
If you are a non-profit or depend on rich folk to donate to your cause, the unconstitutional income tax will decimate giving.
This is one of many inconvenient truths Democrats are failing to disclose. Vote wisely.
Another excellent article from @kevinvdahlgren:
"I worked in homelessness services for decades, long enough to know the difference between burnout and something far more corrosive. What many workers in this field are experiencing is not simply exhaustion. It is moral injury. Burnout says, I’m tired. Moral injury says, I know this is wrong, and I’m being asked to defend it anyway. That distinction matters because moral injury doesn’t just drain energy. It erodes conscience."

I've only been out one time with @weheartseattle, to help with a park clean up at Seattle's Jose Rizal Park, and almost everyone we spoke with during that two hours was service resistant, even when they appeared to be at death's door. A few were hostile. I encourage Mr. Scholes to participate in a We Heart Seattle event.
H/T: Seattle has a new plan to end homelessness!
Downtown Seattle Association hired Community Solutions a 501(c)(3) with $183M in assets that got a $100M MacArthur grant in 2021 to tell Seattle’s Homeless Industrial Complex it needs to coordinate better and put people on a by-name list.
No public safety at the table.
No We Heart Seattle.
No Union Gospel Mission or Salvation Army. (or mention of faith based partners)
No clean-and-sober providers like The More We Love, Oxford, Weld, or Battlefield.
Jon (CEO of @downtownseattle ) says Service Resistant Homeless is a myth! That statement is widely used by Housing First Advocates.
Where was the criminal justice system?
More coordination without accountability or treatment isn’t a plan. It’s just more death, chaos, and wasted taxes dollars.
NEW: Socialist Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson admits the current response to the city’s homeless drug crisis isn’t working.
But she’s doubling down on the failed Housing First approach and working with the same players in the regions’s homeless industrial complex that presided over the past decade of failure. 🧵👇🏽
Millions of dollars are being mismanaged and stolen, even as people suffer and die in the streets. Successful homelessness programs can show lives restored and transformed. We need accountability NOW.
This is @Annemarieward, a recovery advocate from Scotland. Annmarie says our systems of care are run by people who fundamentally do not understand the nature of addiction. Drug policy is filled with activists and bureaucrats instead of people with lived experience. She's right.
Ask WA Democrats about Housing First and why they still support this failed taxpayer funded policy.
King County data shows more people are now dying of drug overdoses inside these facilities than they are on the streets. WATCH.
