🔥 George Carlin brilliantly exposes the truth about America's 'bought elections' and shatters the illusion of freedom of choice. In his own inimitable style, he lays bare the reality of our political system and the lack of true choice we experience in important matters:
"They're not even trying to conceal it anymore. The owners of the country have bought their elect, got their election. They said, 'we're going to get this election. We put you people in that court for a reason.'
You don't need a formal conspiracy when interests converge. These people went to the same universities and fraternities. They're on the same boards of directors. They're in the same country clubs. They have, like interest. They don't need to call a meeting. They know what's good for them and they're getting it.
And there used to be seven oil companies. Now there are three. It will soon be two. The things that matter in this country have been reduced in choice. There are two political parties. There are a handful of insurance companies. There are about six or seven information links. But if you want a bagel, there are 23 flavors. Because you have the illusion. You have the illusion of choice, right? You don't get the real important choice. There's no freedom of choice."
Anyone else confused as to why @Gael_Monfils is on an outside court at the @AustralianOpen where there are now long queues and not everyone can see him.
So many boring matches I pause for in the big stadiums but this thriller is on a side court.
@aprettyPR Since there's a LOT of folks in your comments who want to play stupid, an explanation for WHY this PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR is problematic AF

"In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be antiracist.” — Angela Davis
It’s never a wrong time to throw a violent Nazi in a bush.
Just saw somebody try to argue that minimum wage isn't supposed to be a living wage. That their small business can't afford to pay a living wage.
If the only way your business can exist is the exploitation of labor (aka peoples actual lives), then your business should not exist.
“If I could give you one thought, it would be to lift someone up. Lift a stranger up - lift her up. I would ask you, mother and father, brother and sister, lovers, mother and daughter, father and son, lift someone. The very idea of lifting someone up will lift you, as well.”
In GOP MAGA land a 12-year-old girl impregnated by rape is old enough to be forced to give birth, but too young to read books about the existence of racism.
It isn’t children or life they protect, it’s misogyny and rape culture. Vote them all out.
This girl is Dima Al-Wawi. She was arrested on her way back home from school at an Israeli check point near an illegal settlement called Karmei Tzur.
She went to jail for 4.5 months, and her age was just 12.
