They deserved that event the same as everyone did.
The fact that everyone else wasn't invited was not their fault, and as far as I gather, they were kept in the dark about what type of event/what was going to happen.

Hating on the content creators makes no fucking sense.

Interesting controversy in Pokemon Go:

Niantic/Scopely completly forgot how PoGo was supposed to be a community focused and inclusive game with the 10 years celebration event in Times Square being invite only.

But I saw back then and now ALOT of content creators who work with PoGo and N/S also call them on their bullshit and try to make the game better for EVERYONE.
