These bills, along with C-22 and C-9 constitute a total erosion in Canada’s basic liberties. They interlock into making Canada essentially unviable for those with choices on where to build.
After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
.@nodejs has always been about I/O. Streams, buffers, sockets, files. But there's a gap that has bugged me for years: you can't virtualize the filesystem.
You can't import a module that only exists in memory. You can't bundle assets into a Single Executable without patching half the standard library.
That changes now 👇
Canada.
This is a pivotal moment if you value freedom: freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of belief, and freedom of the press.
The BC Human Rights Commission has reportedly levied a $750,000 fine against a former elected official for stating that there are only two sexes , a view that, whether one agrees with it or not, has been the prevailing position for most of recorded history.
You may support or oppose his stance. That isn’t the point. The deeper issue is whether disagreement with evolving social doctrine should result in financial ruin imposed by a quasi-judicial body.
At the same time, violent offenders are frequently granted bail and released back into communities.
These contradictions raise serious questions about priorities, proportionality, and the protection of fundamental freedoms in Canada.
God help us.
The Myth of an IRGC Coup
In my latest analysis on Iran Analytica, I examine why speculation about an IRGC coup misreads how power actually works in #Iran and why succession, not seizure, is the real fault line 👇

To cut through the noise on this topic, it’s helpful to provide more more context:
- We have built several versions of this system last year. - There are tradeoffs and there hasn't been a clear winner.
- When prompted with the best ideas that survived, coding agents are able to go very far and generate a good decent toy version in an hour or so.
it's so embarrassing when software engineers act like someone is getting unpaid labor out of them
"this company interviewed me and made me work on their codebase as a test and didn't hire me!!!"
have you ever worked a real job lol there is zero chance some random person contributing code on day 1 is a net positive
someone had to find an isolated low priority task for you, answer a bunch of your questions, and then review everything thoroughly
you COST them time and money and weren't even worth it
I debated 20 far-far-far-right conservatives on Jubilee's 'Surrounded.'
Below are some brief highlights of them unable to answer my basic questions or rebut the simplest of points. Not sure whether to laugh or cry.
Here's the full eye-opening 'debate': https://t.co/VG2vnik1J0
🧵 At JSNation, I showed graphs that honestly left me speechless about Node.js upgrade patterns
Let me break down why I'm so passionate about getting you to upgrade - from security nightmares to exciting v24 features:

Someone warned me in 2023 that, owing to my posts on Palestine, my book career was over, (but I could fix it w/loud repentance). Predictably, I told him to fuck off.
Well, this Sunday,The Black Swan, after 18 years, is back on NYT Bestseller List.
Never compromise.
Now is the perfect time to remember Mohammad Mosaddegh. He was elected as Iran's Prime Minister in 1951. He was incredibly liberal for the time - he embraced democratic principles and sought to place limitations on the Shah's power. He was also a supporter of secularism.
