@ClarkeMicah It will be good for community bonding and the sale of Polo mints, we can all huddle round under a community blanket and keep ourselves warm by sucking Polo mints, it will be like it was back in the blitz. It's progress man, but not as we imagined it!
@StopCoronaVir12@ABridgen ''You shall indeed hear but never understand, and you shall indeed see but never perceive. For this people's heart has grown dull, and their ears are heavy of hearing, and their eyes they have closed,''
''"For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see,''
@StopCoronaVir12@ABridgen The whole concept of using mRNA technology for human gene therapy is very much experimental, the trials undertaken were not extensive enough to evaluate all the possible effects. Also. quality control of mRNA vaccine production was appalling with many bad batches being produced.
@BlueWizzard@EvEvangelist Only if they do not all burn up first; https://t.co/bFy2zg7Sit The problems and costs of re-cycling lithium ion batteries mean that at best the UK will manage to have about 3 million max on the road. For many of us hoi polloi EVs will mean the end of personal motoring.
@diana_dukic@mayemusk@NHTSAgov With current technology and resources EVs can only replace about 10 to 20% of the petrol/diesel cars currently on the road. Once we get to that level we will run out of resources, re-cycling capacity and electric generating and supply capacity. No more cars for the hoi-polloi!
@Transpoco The use of huge heavy lithium-ion batteries for personal transport is ridiculous and is a dinosaur technology. Future technology will sideline these batteries. I cannot predict the future but in 100 years time mankind will not be using heavy lithium-ion batteries for transport.
@EarlLopez338308@Chinaporn If you could time travel 100 years into the future, I do not think you will find 2 tonne electric cars with lithium-ion batteries, nor the current style of hydrogen car will be our future transport. I cannot predict the future but I can spot dinosaur technology when I see it.
@GeoffBuysCars BMW also produce some iconic Motor Bikes, are ICE motor bikes being finished as well? It is hard to imagine electric motor bikes being for anything other than local travel around town. Indeed it is hard to imagine electric motor bikes at all! Easy Rider looking for charging point
@GoatVinity@lillianjl_@vapourion How do you calculate cheaper? EV depreciation is huge , most ordinary folk cannot fund this level of depreciation. The battery liability on older EVs is more than most folk can contemplate. EV insurance is way higher. And so I ask again how do you calculate cheaper?
@DPAutomation China has over 3000 coal fired power stations to supply the electric for its green, climate saving, eco electric cars. How green is my Yangtze valley?
@GeoffBuysCars IMO, given current technology, resources & re-cycling facilities, the UK can only manage to run a fleet of 5 million battery EVs, These will all be needed by business, commercial and trade users mostly on a corporate lease basis. Most of us hoi-polloi will be on the bus.
@DrWendyJackson@matthewmaddock Ah yes but the whole point of electric cars is to restrict travel & end travel freedom for the miserable hoi-polloi. You are supposed to sit in your eco-hutch, go nowhere and be thankful they let you keep living. Or may be it is time for some serious fight-back against all this.
@janellabooks@Deadferrets It is still illegal to run an unattended live cable across the public highway. If you do not have off road charging and you cannot use a public charger then you are not supposed to have a car, that is the C40 cities agenda. We need mass resistance to this war on the car.
@Adap2flow@unusual_whales Personal ownership of an electric cars is a bad idea, the depreciation is phenomenal, the liability attached to the battery is outrageous. EVs only work as a corporate leased company car. Do not buy one, it will put you in the poor house.
@Harrybo1988@JustStop_Oil Doubtless in the future, new technology will come along , but for the present, lithium-ion battery cars are ridiculous dinosaur technology. They are to cars like Betamax was to videos. In the future we will look back & laugh that we thought Lithium-ion was the way to go.
@TerryBerit The benefit is that we are not in the increasingly insane world of EU policies, like net-zero agriculture etc. We may not do a lot better but we have a chance. The EU seems hell bent social credits like the CCP. They are a nasty bunch look at their treatment of Hungary.
@MikeStarr8@ConversationEDU OK but how come every photo of an e-bike shows them in glorious weather, Here in North Devon it is drizzling, sometimes it rains, a lot! other times we get gale force Atlantic winds. Using an e-bike round here (which I do, sometimes) is a real heads down battle with the elements.
