PRINCES HWY: The highway has opened in both directions between Jerrawangla and Conjola following earlier bush fire and back burning.
Emergency service crews remain in the area.

Currowan Fire : The Princes Hwy is closed between Sussex Inlet Rd & Martins Ridge Rd. This due to crews undertaking a backburn ahead of the main fire front. Once completed RMS crews will need to inspect the road before it opens. This may be still be a number of hours. #NSWRFS

At 5.30pm there are 106 fires burning, 53 are not yet contained, 2 are at Emergency Warning. It has been a very challenging day for the 2,500 firefighters currently in the field. Crews are continuing to work hard to protect homes on some firegrounds.
