Yesterday afternoon in my hometown of Washington DC I was once again the NBA game statistician (for my 45th straight season) for the Washington Wizards as they defeated the visiting Boston Celtics, 104-91.
Last night I was in my usual position as game statistician (for the 42nd straight season) for the NBA’s Washington Wizards as they lost to the visiting NY Knicks, 109-91 in my hometown Wash. DC. The Wizards are now 6-17 this season.
Last night I was in my usual role (for the past 42 years) as NBA game statistician for the Washington Wizards as the visiting Portland Trail Blazers (now 11-9) beat the Wizards (now 4-13), 132-121 at Capital One Arena.
@WashWizards@rolopez42@MedStarHealth Robin Lopez’s comments are a very thoughtful and informative response on the current covid matter concerning the Wizards specifically and the NBA in general. He is a very responsible spokesperson for the team.
Last night I spent New Year’s Eve working (for the 40th straight season) as the NBA statistician in my Wash. DC hometown as the visiting Chicago Bulls beat the Washington Wizards 133-130 to make the Wizards 0-5 to start the new season. Happy New Year everyone.
@Sanima Hi Sani: Happy holidays to you. Just hearing from you brings a smile to me. You were such a wonderful caring person to know those years ago. I hope our paths can cross again in the near future.
Last night at Capital One Arena in my hometown of Wash. DC I worked my first NBA preseason game of the new season as the Washington Wizards defeated the Detroit Pistons, 99-96. This starts my 44th year with franchises in DC.
@JoeBpXp@BigTenNetwork Joe B: What a treat to hear your terrific Maryland football play-by-play call. As with all of your on-air assignments you have wonderful pacing, just the right amount of stats and background info. on the teams and players competing, and set your analyst up well. Happy holidays.
@SteveBuckhantz@BIGEAST@GeorgetownHoops@StJohnsBBall@FS1 I had a most enjoyable evening last night doing the statistics next to Buck in Georgetown’s overtime win over St. John’s at McDonough Fieldhouse in Washington DC. Buck is still an incredibly top play-by-play announcer who gives his viewers a wonderfully well-paced broadcast.
@usatodaysports I am sure Kenny gave this “assignment” the same pregame preparation and then an exciting play-by-play broadcast call as if he were calling an NFL playoff game or a N.Y. Rangers’ NHL Stanley Cup contest.
@awfulannouncing And Kenny will prepare as thoroughly and carry off his narrative as if he were doing a Super Bowl broadcast. That is how much of a professional and committed person he is to any assignment he undertakes.
@reddusfoximus@RaysBaseball Pam as usual your tweeted observations are right on the money. One of the things I miss with my absence at attending local sporting events is having the opportunity to cross paths with you and conversing in person with you.
Yesterday Bill Gildea—the legendary former Wash. Post sports reporter and author of books about events he covered growing up in the Wash. DC-Baltimore area—passed away after courageously battling a lengthy illness.
RIP Bill. You will be missed.
