In Njenga Karume's memoir, 'Beyond Expectations : From Charcoal To Gold' the ex Kiambaa MP narrates how he at one time hosted a party in his home and since Charles Mugane Njonjo, the then Attorney General, was one of the dignitaries invited, he went ahead and imported his brand of beer from Germany.
In his characteristic flamboyance, Njonjo came with his beer mug as he couldn't use the ordinary cutlery every Tom, Dick and Harry were served in.
When the party ended and he went back to the city, he noticed that his beer mug was missing.

Keep your problems smaller than your life. A flat tire is a flat tire. A bad meeting is a bad meeting. A canceled flight is just an extra two hours. These things become catastrophes when you let them. But they stay manageable when you remember the depth of your real life- the people you love, the work you care about, the beautiful years still ahead. Zoom out. Fit your reaction to the size of the problem.

Anyone else create elaborate fake scenarios in your head where you’re the main character just to fall asleep? Just realised I’ve been doing this since childhood. Romantic plots, alternate lives, comforting storylines, full production.
Is this a neurodivergent thing or have I just been directing bedtime cinema for 30 years?

Our strength lies in solidarity. No subsector should negotiate for itself while ignoring the collective demands that brought us together. Any agreement that fails to address the full set of issues we unanimously adopted cannot be accepted as a genuine resolution #RejectFuelPrices
When I was writing my masters thesis, I knew Mau Mau was banned in the 50s. But I assumed of course after independence, they'd be unbanned. I decided to look up the date so I could cite it. Mau Mau was unbanned in 2003! by the Kibaki administration. I clearly remember screaming.
