Before the Premier League season starts, I want to categorically state that I hate Arsenal with all my heart, and I wish them nothing but misery this season
In case you're wondering what happened
Galatasaray's fans disturbed Liverpool's sleep at Istanbul, lit fireworks in the stands at Juventus, sent a man and his daughter to hospital, and have now been banned from Anfield because of that.
During Galatasaray's 3-2 defeat at Juventus on February 25, their supporters threw objects, lit fireworks and caused crowd disturbances. The most serious incident involved a man and his daughter who were taken to hospital after being struck by a firecracker directed toward home fans.
Under Article 16 of UEFA's disciplinary regulations, clubs are responsible for the behaviour of their supporters. UEFA therefore fined Galatasaray €40,000 and banned their fans from attending their next Champions League away fixture. Galatasaray appealed but it was rejected.
This was not their first offence either. On the night of the first leg in Istanbul, Galatasaray supporters reportedly lit fireworks outside Liverpool's team hotel specifically to disrupt the squad's sleep.
Liverpool have now confirmed the visitors section will be released to home supporters. If every seat sells, Anfield will hold 61,000 Liverpool supporters on the night. That definitely is a wall of sound with a Champions League quarter-final on the line.
Galatasaray's supporters did this to themselves.
Now you know why.
