@VenterCarina@Dubai_allergy@sallyann_denton@GoAllergy@BSACI_Allergy We know sensitisation (& therefore journey to allergy) to egg and peanut is happening early in higher risk infants and so needed to address that intervening before 6mo important for some infants....
@Dubai_allergy@VenterCarina@sallyann_denton@GoAllergy While I'm on topic.... the @BSACI_allergy early feeding guidance was collaboration including wide range of health care professionals, allergy charities, parents. We are really trying to support higher risk patients and the HCPs who advise them.
@VenterCarina@Dubai_allergy@sallyann_denton@GoAllergy On LEAP 90% had intro 'any' formula at randomisation, 42% breastfeeding at randomisation. Other allergy prevention studies have included both breastfeeding and formula feeding infants e.g. BEAT, STEP. @BSACI_Allergy early feeding guidance not based on outcomes from one study!
So, we will be abseiling down St Thomas’ on Friday raising money for Paediatric Allergy Research. All donations welcome, thanks so much. @GSTTnhs@EvelinaLondon@KingsCollegeLon
