@JenniferEtter8@LmswJohnson I agree that residential treatment is necessary in some situations. While it can be intensive it may be the safest environment for the child.
When people think if CPS, they think that they take peoples kids. However, people do not realize that family reunification is a primary goal while the childs safety is priority. #TarletonCWF22EJ
@JenniferEtter8@LmswJohnson The foster families have the beautiful and difficult job of providing stability, support, and safety to these children. And more often then not its for the first time that these kiddos are provided with it. Foster families have the potential to be incredible support for the kids.
While a child being removed from their family and placed into foster care can be traumatic so is living in a situation where there is abuse and or basic needs are not being met. Childhood trauma is significant and has to be addressed no matter how uncomfortable. #TarletonCWF22EJ
@BSWCorrineCagle@LmswJohnson I agree that there are many reasons that teens become sexually active. I think that education on contraceptives would be very beneficial in helping to lower teen pregnancies. #TarletonCWF22EJ
While the number of teen pregnancies has decreased it is still an epidemic. With over 1,000 teen births every day; education on contraceptives is key. #TarletonCWF22EJ
@JimenaCarreon23@LmswJohnson It is truly perplexing the effects that childhood experiences have on ones health and adult life experiences. Childhood experiences are so critical in their development which is why I believe Child Welfare is so crucial. #TarletonCWF22EJ
Play therapy can be very beneficial when working with a child that has faced trauma. According to LCSW, Paris Goodyear-Brown, play is the language and toys are the words for the children. Children are able to communicate their trauma in a way that they understand #TarletonCWF22EJ
@McmurryMaize Yes, childhood trauma is so much more than just anxiety and depression it physically alters the growth and function of a child and should be taken more seriously.
Childhood trauma is something that follows the child well into their adulthood. Childhood trauma produces side effects such as anxiety, depression, trust issues, and even self-destructive behaviors.

@soldier0423 I agree with you completely. Instead of just brushing it off and excusing it as teen behavior is crippling our youth. I think a part of that is when parents see these signs and immediately step in to offer tools to help such as counseling. #TarletonCWF22EJ
Teen addiction: Drinking or using drugs before the age of 15 TRIPLES the risk of them becoming addicts. Teens today have more access to substances than ever before. #TarletonCWF22EJ credit @healthvideos
At least 20% of children in America are facing food insecurity. Food insecurity in children can lead to physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral problems.#TarletonCWF22EJ
@soldier0423 Reporting is such a crucial role in child welfare. I agree with you, if you suspect it report it! I know sometimes people can be intimidated by getting involved but we have to set that aside for the well-being of children. Better safe than sorry #TarletonCWF22EJ
Child Welfare is a pull of resources that protects children from any kind of abuse through parenting classes, mental health services, case management, investigations, etc. #TarletonCWF22EJ
