new report from @itjpsl on the Chemmani Mass Grave ‘We Are Still Searching’ - it has been 30 years since it was first discovered but despite enormous publicity and two phases of excavation, no commander has yet been held criminally accountable https://t.co/q57wy331hB #SriLanka
Today—54 yrs ago—the Mossad killed Ghassan Kanafani & his niece in Beirut.
“A commando who never fired a gun, whose weapon was a ball-point pen and his arena the newspaper pages,” wrote the Daily Stars for his obituary.
Kanafani was born in Acre/Akka & expelled at the age of 12.
we are not horrified enough by the direct and systemic violence that enables 380 (likely +) people - men, women and children - to be murdered and buried like this. Chemmani is now the site of the largest mass grave on the island. Accountability now! #SriLanka
Met a guy who doesn’t buy plane tickets in advance. He decides it’s time to go to the airport in the morning, shows up and asks for a one way transpacific ticket in any class. Founder mode.

Based on what is already going on with AI data centers in other countries what we can expect in SL is the exploitation of land & fresh water resources, loss of habitats and biodiversity, pollution and environmental degradation, marginalization of neighboring communities.
Chemmani Mass Grave Excavation – Phase 3, Day 19
Sixteen more human skeletons were identified today during Phase 3 of the Chemmani mass grave excavation.
With today’s discoveries, the total number of human skeletons identified across all three phases of the excavation has increased to 318, while 302 skeletons have been fully exhumed to date.
Among today’s findings, the excavation team identified a human accumulation containing six skeletons, which was assigned Accumulation No. 20. One of the skeletons within this accumulation was found in a folded-leg position.
The remains of several children were also identified during today’s excavation activities.

Vietnam again. Brick is not a primitive material, it’s a climate solution.
The Bat Trang House wraps a 740m² family home in a porous ceramic facade inspired by the pottery village it sits in. Trees grow through the center. The courtyard pulls air through every floor. Heat and light filtered naturally through jali screens.
Working with your climate instead of fighting it. The material existed. The knowledge existed. The decision was all that was missing.

The only way they can salvage this is by assuring us that there will be solar panels + a rooftop garden or something 💔
Srsly who cares about the 3D billboards 😭
Who on earth is signing off on these ugly, characterless renovations/structures in & around Colombo? 😭 When will Sri Lankans grasp that progress & development do not have to mean plain/basic/ugly/metallic? 😭😭😭😭
