Thirty senior American psychiatrists and mental health experts have signed a statement declaring President Donald Trump mentally unfit to serve, warning that his sole authority over U.S. nuclear weapons poses a danger to the entire world.
According to the doctors, Trump’s behavior over the past year has shown “objectively observable signs of serious medical concern.”
They cited:
— a significant decline in cognitive functioning,
— episodes of apparent drowsiness during critical public appearances,
— severely impaired judgment and impulse control,
— loss of self-control,
— and grandiose or delusional beliefs, including claims of infallibility and imagery portraying himself as a figure with a “divine mission.”
The physicians argue that Trump now represents a “clear and present danger” and called for urgent action to remove him from office.
“It is our expert opinion that Donald J. Trump is mentally unfit to be president of the United States,” the statement reads.
The letter invokes the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which allows the vice president and cabinet to declare a president incapable of performing the duties of office.
One of the signatories, Dr. Henry David Abraham of Tufts University School of Medicine, warned about “the buildup of psychiatric symptoms in a person who has sole authority to launch nuclear weapons.”
He pointed to Trump’s April 7, 2026 Truth Social post regarding Iran, in which Trump wrote:
“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”
According to the doctors, the warning signs include:
— grandiosity without restraint,
— paranoia,
— impulsivity,
— vindictiveness,
— uncontrolled rage,
— and a sense of omnipotence in a man with unchecked control over nuclear weapons.
Psychiatrist Bandy Lee, another signatory, said the issue now “transcends politics and concerns the survival of humanity itself.”
The statement was submitted to the U.S. Congressional Record by Democratic Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed.
The doctors emphasized that their declaration is “medical, not political,” and includes professionals with both conservative and liberal views.

Jürgen Klopp on Liverpool appointing Andoni Iraola as their next manager:
🗣️ “I've seen some people questioning this appointment and honestly, I think they're making a huge mistake.
Liverpool haven't hired a manager because of his name. They've hired him because of his work. And in football, that should always be the most important thing.
When I watch Iraola's teams, I see courage. I see intensity. I see players who run like their lives depend on it. I see a team that refuses to be intimidated by anyone.
That sounds very familiar to me.
People forget that before managers become elite, they first have to be given the opportunity. Not everyone arrives with ten trophies and a global reputation.
What matters is whether you can coach. And believe me, this guy can coach.
I faced his teams and they were a nightmare. They pressed, they fought, they attacked and they never stopped believing. You leave those games exhausted.
The thing Liverpool supporters will love is that he doesn't play with fear. He doesn't care about budgets, reputations or big names. He wants to compete. Every single week.
And if he brings that mentality to Anfield, with better players and bigger resources, then the rest of the Premier League should be very worried.
Because Liverpool haven't appointed a caretaker. They haven't appointed a celebrity.
They've appointed a coach who is obsessed with improving, obsessed with competing and obsessed with winning.
And those are usually the most dangerous ones.”
🇺🇦 President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Vladimir Putin with an open letter:
🗣️ “No matter what you say about NATO, geopolitics, or the Russian language, this war is your personal choice.
A war that had no real reason. This is exactly how history will remember it.
You did not expect such large-scale resistance from Ukraine and could not predict that events would go this far. Yet here we all are, in the fifth year of full-scale confrontation.
Ukraine continues to preserve its independence. And it will preserve it — regardless of any other forecasts.
Do not be afraid to leave the war. This is exactly what is needed from you now.
We in Ukraine do not want a permanent war. We know very well that life without war is incomparably better.
You will not have enough money or political power to maintain the loyalty of Russians for much longer, as you have done over the past 26 years. We will do everything so that the world knows about this.
As you yourself say, everything must be counted.”
This open letter from Zelenskyy is both a strong moral appeal and a sharp psychological message. It places full personal responsibility for the war on Putin, while simultaneously offering him a way out. The tone is confident, emphasizing Ukraine’s resilience and the unsustainable nature of Russia’s long-term war effort.
