@QuinanLloyd@CaledoniaLad@JNHanvey I had thousands of sheets of canvass returns with names of constituents & their positions on the 1-10 indy scale. After the referendum I asked what to do with them. They said keep them meanwhile. Two years later they said burn them and I reluctantly did - in a brazier. Took ages.
@J4m35c4mpb3ll Murdo Fraser is supposed to be a Scottish MSP. So when he talks about what assets “we” will lose if Scotland becomes independent who is he (apparently unthinkingly) identifying with?
@CraigMurrayOrg Craig, I’ve tried to contact you by way of three different email addresses re your visit as Guest to Pensioners for Independence scheduled for Feb 27th at 2pm. Is there a better way to reach you? Mary McCabe
@TheIndyNinja1 Down through the ages folk fought and died for the right to vote and the establishment killed them to stop them getting it so the franchise is obviously worth having. If you abstain you’re lumped in (by the media and by the powerful) with the apathetic and can be ignored
@PWMartin_Leith It’s very difficult for new small parties to make a breakthrough and start winning seats. For the first 30 years I spent chapping doors in Glasgow for the SNP everyone said it was a wasted vote. And they were right. Until it suddenly wasn’t .
@ricmontg Great shots, especially the video. I don’t think we’ve ever had a video of us all in action. Above all the political activity floats Neil’s voice saying “You don’t go up to any dog unless you know it!” One for the archives.
@AnneMcLaughlin I remember Mary coming to all the pro-indy marches. She walked at her own pace, with a stick, but always finished the course. She was also involved in the various educational and cultural events based in Provan Hall.
@Common_Weal The Welsh Government has set up an energy company. Wales can do what we can’t: WM didn’t bother banning it for Wales which doesn’t have much energy anyway. For the same reason WM allows local authorities to borrow cash
(& nationalise energy?): a loophole for Holyrood.
Alex Salmond: by far the most successful Scottish politician of modern times. His courage, charisma, intelligence, imagination & perseverance turned the indy movement from a fringe into an innovative Govt & brought Scotland’s cause into international view.
@SNPforGlasgow@Kenny4PartickKd So shocked. I remember working with him several times building the visitors’ centre on the SNP owned island Eilean Mor McCormick and driving him home
@Dr_Bob_Rankin@Billy1866164565 The U.K. Govt has centuries experience of divide & conquer>>>divide & rule. Repeatedly folk fall for it; they don’t think long-term or look at the bigger picture. So personal insults on X & disagreement on policies trump the very right to choose policies
@ricmontg What a great video! Does anybody know which channel it was filmed on? And when? I see they’re wearing poppies so it must have been October or November. Was it recently (2023)?
@DJMacDonald8 @NickyZog@RishiSunak@Keir_Starmer@HumzaYousaf@theSNP For the past five decades (ever since Scotland began threatening to leave the U.K.) the attitude of the U.K. Government towards the Scottish economy has been pure malevolence.
