In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.
She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.
The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.
She handed out the checks herself.
In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.
When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.
You've probably heard that part.
Here's the part you haven't:
The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.
Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.
She built her county an entire hospital.
She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.
In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.
Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.
In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.
And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.
She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.
She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.
Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸
🚨INCREDIBLE: After winning the silver medal in the javelin at the Tokyo Olympics, Polish athlete Maria Andrejczyk did something extraordinary.
The devout Catholic put her hard-earned Olympic medal up for auction to help raise money for life-saving heart surgery for an 8-month-old Polish boy, Miłoszek.
She needed to help cover the remaining cost of the operation. The Polish supermarket chain Żabka won the auction with a high bid.
Then Żabka did something just as remarkable: they returned the medal to her.
Maria got her Olympic silver back — and the little boy received the help he needed.
Perhaps instead of putting moms who take the lives of their own children on a pedestal.... the media should focus on honoring people like THIS.
This Georgia teacher swam into a rip current to save a 10-year-old girl .... and never made it back to shore.
Derrick Moore, 47, was at Myrtle Beach on August 7 with his family ahead of the new school year. He heard Summer McCallum screaming as a powerful current dragged her more than 30 yards offshore.
No lifeguards were on duty. Moore, a PE teacher and coach at Rockbridge Elementary outside Atlanta and a father of four, ran straight into the water.
He reached the terrified girl, held out his arm for her to grab, and helped get her onto a flotation device with other bystanders. Summer made it back to the beach alive.
Moore was pulled under by the same current and disappeared. His body washed ashore the next morning.
Summer later said the one thing she wishes she could tell him is “I really owe my life to you.” Students called him “Coach.”
Friends described a man who always showed up. He spent his career protecting other people’s children and gave his life doing exactly that on his last day.
This is what real courage looks like. Remember Derrick Moore.

HOLY CRAP 🚨: Elon Musk backs billionaire Warren Buffett’s famous plan to eliminate the deficit in 5 minutes: “You just pass a law that says, ‘Anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for reelection.’”
Elon Musk wrote on 𝕏: “💯 This is the way[!]”
If the politicians in D.C. actually cared about the American people, they would pass this law tomorrow.
Incredible doc!

At just 18 years old, Warrick Dunn lost his mother, Baton Rouge police officer Betty Smothers, who was killed in the line of duty.
Overnight, he stepped up to help raise his five younger siblings while still in high school and later college, all while pursuing his dream of playing in the NFL.
He succeeded on the field, but his true legacy was built off it. Honoring his mother’s dream of homeownership, Dunn used his NFL success to help hundreds of single mothers and their families. He has funded down payments, furnished homes, and provided stability to more than 145 families in need.
Warrick Dunn turned his deepest pain into purpose, giving other families the security and opportunity his own family lost far too soon.
Why can’t your plan be implemented TODAY?
Your party is still in charge of the state. Get Tim Walz to call a special session.
There is no reason to wait for an election.
The kids you see in this photo aren’t just wearing black T-shirts, they earned them. Every black shirt represents 50 free lawns mowed for people in their communities who needed a helping hand, including the elderly, people with disabilities, single parents, veterans, first responders, and active-duty service members. The idea behind The 50 Yard Challenge is similar to the karate belt system: kids start in white, earn orange after 10 lawns, green after 20, blue after 30, red after 40, and finally black after completing 50 lawns. That black shirt represents commitment, compassion, hard work, and finishing what you started.
And the reward goes beyond the shirt. Every young person who completes all 50 lawns earns a brand-new lawn mower, weed eater, and blower to recognize everything they have accomplished. The kids pictured here are just some of the incredible young people who have completed the challenge over the years. To date, more than 6,000 kids across the United States and internationally have stepped up and accepted The 50 Yard Challenge—proving that you are never too young to make a meaningful difference in someone else’s life.
So my question is for every parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, family member, mentor, or friend reading this: What’s stopping the young person in your life from taking The 50 Yard Challenge? There is no time limit, and raking leaves and shoveling snow count too, making it a year-round opportunity to serve. Talk to your kids today about accepting the challenge. You never know how much 50 acts of kindness could change their life—and the lives of the people they serve. Teach them to serve today, and they may become the leaders who change tomorrow—one lawn at a time.
Your reminder that David Hoch contacted Amy Klobuchar for years about the fraud in Minnesota, and she never did anything.
Klobuchar issued 1,000+ press releases over a three-year period at the height of the fraud.
Not a single mention about fraud.
🚨 BREAKING UPDATE: Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)'s team is FURIOUS, indicating that James O'Keefe should face PROSECUTION because he simply exposed Alaska's voter vulnerability
Poll workers were going to let O'Keefe vote as Murkowski's BROTHER, Brian
MURKOWSKI'S OFFICE: "Voter impersonation is a crime and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
She opposes the SAVE America Act
And now is ATTACKING the journalist exposing why we need it.
OVER TARGET, @JamesOKeefeIII
It is shocking to me that we have so many pieces of great legislation ready to go, like banning insider trading or capping student loan interest rates at 2%, yet my counterparts across the aisle refuse to vote on them or get them over the finish line because it would make Republicans look good before the midterms.
When Congress puts politics over representation the system is broken.
The national debt crossed the $40 trillion mark, months ahead of schedule. Instead of paying for things as we go, Washington spends and spends.
You and your family make a budget and live by it. Washington should as well.
🚨WOW!!!
A lady in Tennessee is being hailed as a HERO after she rescued a KIDNAPPED 12-year-old girl as she came running out of the woods, barefoot and covered in scratches, and collapsed into a ditch on the side of the highway, attempting to escape.
Cars kept driving past her.
One woman looked in her rearview mirror and thought: somebody will stop for that baby.
...BUT NOBODY DID!!!
So she turned around. 🇺🇸
Her name is Jennifer Maxwell.
She was driving home from her job as a healthcare caregiver on Sunday afternoon, on US-421 in Erwin, North Carolina.
That's when she saw a little girl come out of the treeline, run down the embankment, and drop into the ditch, sobbing.
Jennifer slowed down. She watched her mirror. She waited for somebody else to do something.
Not one car stopped.
So she turned her vehicle around, pulled up, and rolled down her window.
"Baby, are you okay?"
And the little girl said: "No. I've been kidnapped."
Jennifer asked if she was serious.
She was serious.
She had no shoes on. Just a big T-shirt and shorts. Her arms and legs were torn up with scratches from running through the brush.
She had been walking in those woods for TWO HOURS.
Investigators say the man kept pushing her, grabbing her by the shoulder, forcing her to keep moving deeper into the trees.
That 12-year-old girl got away from him ON HER OWN.
She ran. She made it to the road. And then she needed one adult in America to stop the car.
Jennifer got her inside, locked the doors, and called 911.
She drove her straight to the Erwin Police Department. Then she took deputies BACK to the spot where she found her, so they could search the right woods.
They found him in the treeline that night.
Daniel Francis Gear, 38. Charged with first-degree kidnapping and assault on a female. Bond set Monday at $2.5 MILLION.
She won't take the word hero.
"I just thank God that I was there, cause if it was my daughter, I'd want someone to be there also."
BE THE ONE WHO TURNS AROUND!!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
