The RESPECT Check for paraprofessionals passed UNANIMOUSLY in City Council but still wasn’t good enough for Mayor Mamdani. Now these underpaid & overworked school aides who were PROMISED an advocate in City Hall don’t know if they will ever see a pay raise. @UFT : regretting that endorsement yet?
There was a break in at multiple buildings in the area surrounding the new all adult male shelter. Although we confirmed this man is not from the new Emmons Ave shelter, he was processed through the shelter system and crime has significantly increased in this vicinity. My constituents are experiencing a lot of anxiety about the situation and have already expressed how they will no longer bring their kids to the park. The TRO still stands and temporarily prevents more adult males from coming in but this is unacceptable! I am requesting extra police presence and will keep fighting for the safety of our neighborhood!
Jews MUST learn from Italian Americans. Mamdani tried to be cute and exclude them from a map, and within 24 hours this community relentlessly confronted him and spoke out. They did not shy away, write letters, or philosophize about how to quietly approach this. They put the arrogant activist amateur back in his place and got him shaking in his knees. Little Italy is back on the map! This is HOW IT’S DONE my fellow Jewish New Yorkers!
Tomorrow, we celebrate the first nation founded on the timeless principles of natural rights and government of, by, and FOR THE PEOPLE. The American Revolution sparked 250 years of unparalleled freedom, opportunity, innovation, and prosperity—reshaping the course of human history like no other nation before it.
It is our responsibility to preserve the freedoms entrusted to us and ensure that the American experiment endures for generations to come!
Happy 4th & G-d Bless America!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Too many TURNED A BLIND EYE when @JDVance publicly scolded and undermined Ukraine in the Oval Office, while giving political cover to Putin. Whether you like Zelensky or not, such public treatment of an ally fighting off a tyrannical regime that murders journalists & aligns with China & Iran, signaled a shift in U.S. Foreign policy. And not in a positive direction. Certainly a shift from the promises we voted for. But we hardly noticed… Now @JDVance is getting his way with Israel, throwing them under the bus, trying to dictate to them how to prosecute a war against ruthless terrorists, while throwing cash at some of the worst human rights abusers on the planet and giving them carte blanche to carry on with beheadings and murder of peaceful protestors. As for Israel- they will be fine. As a wise man once said to Joe Biden: we are not Jews with trembling knees. As for America- what are we doing here ? We need serious introspection and a few steps back, or we will with one miscalculation, completely redefine who we are as a nation.
Celebrating Flag Day & honoring our Veterans with a restored Veterans Memorial on Emmons Ave. Thanks to the Scout Eagles for restoring this community gem & thank you to our Veterans for your service & sacrifice! 🇺🇸🗽
We call on @ManhattanDA Alvin Bragg to deliver JUSTICE to the victim of this heinous assault of a 23 year old woman on the subway in a brutal act of antisemitism.
We expect to see this case prosecuted to THE FULLEST EXTENT of the law.
An anti graffiti measure which city council passed 17 yrs ago would require storefronts to replace solid security gates with gates at least 70% transparent or face up to $1,250 fines as of July 1.
Not only would this be extremely cumbersome FINANCIALLY for our small businesses, but would create a huge security & SAFETY concern. That’s why I am a sponsor of @althea_stevens_d16 bill that would REPEAL this ludicrous 2009 law and would NOT require businesses to replace the gates, unless they’re installing new ones. However, we need to repeal the 2009 bill altogether!
Atrocious that @ZohranKMamdani@NYCMayor found it a priority to VETO @EricDinowitzNYC’s bill protecting educational facilities from harassment, violence and intimidation. Make no mistake this is a nod to the constituency which elected him. With this VETO, the Mayor is INVITING Hamas supporters, violent MOBS and antisemites to stand outside our college campuses and educational facilities to HARRASS & INTIMIDATE students. Every major Jewish organization, including @ADL, @AJCGlobal & @JCRCNY has spoken out. THIS is a stain on the office of a sitting Mayor of a city with the largest population in the world. WE WILL FIGHT THIS act of antisemitism emanating from the halls of New York City’s government.
Congratulations to my friend @CMDMCarr on being elected as our Minority leader! David has proven himself to be a man of high integrity and will be a steady, principled, and unifying leader. I look forward to working closely with him and our Republican delegation to FIGHT for common sense, and for the values & issues that matter most to our constituents as we face the imminent threat of the Mamdani mayoralty and a City Council that is more radical & emboldened than ever. I am also honored to have been appointed by the leader as Minority Whip of @NYCCouncil and I very much look forward to serving by the leader’s side!
‼️The radicals in city hall want to take away your property rights! PROPERTY RIGHTS are as American 🇺🇸 as apple pie 🥧 & as fundamental as LIFE & LIBERTY. But the left engages in unconstitutional intrusion & government overreach via a Bill called COPA (intro 902B). Watch & help us STOP 🛑 them.
This is great news — this guy was notorious for sweeping antisemitism at @NYCSchools under the rug and then letting the DOE admin hide behind his Judaism as an excuse. Completely sick to pretend everything is peachy while Jewish students and staff were made to feel unsafe in their own schools.
Let’s hope they replace him with someone useful who won’t diminish further reports of antisemitic incidents. You KNOW we’ll be watching! 👀
This week, my constituents brought to my attention that Evening Parent Teacher Conferences for Elementary Schools and Pre-K were scheduled to take place on 9/11 this year.
Although I am certain done in error, for our @NYCSchools to plan this to take place on 9/11 exhibits significant malpractice & incompetence. 9/11 carries profound significance for many in our community, serving as a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives to terror.
Upon receiving this information, I reached out directly to @DOEChancellor. The Chancelor immediately responded agreeing that this date must be changed. Today, the Chancelor informed me that the date was changed to 9/17. I am grateful to Chancelor Aviles-Ramos for swiftly taking action and resolving this issue.
#NeverForget 9/11 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
RE: The bait-and-switch attempt at 2134 Coyle Street — Although this is not our district, I have been working with @CMMercedesCD46 and other elected officials to STOP this project.
This site was approved for HOUSING, NOT a shelter, and the city’s decision to reverse course without community input is unacceptable and will undoubtedly affect our community.
I joined several colleagues in drafting and sending a letter to Mayor Adams and Commissioner Park opposing this contract. We’re demanding that the administration halt the shelter plan and honor the original agreement to build permanent apartments.
More advocacy to come!
After years of gaslighting by Joe Biden and his cronies, It took one month for @realDonaldTrump & @TomHoman_ to STOP illegal immigration. Signed. Sealed. Delivered. #winning 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great breakfast w/my friend & former colleague @InnaVernikov today! Discussed the work she’s doing to address tenant issues in her community. Her commitment to standing up for renters & small landlords advocating for solutions is truly inspiring. Stay tuned for a district visit!
As Agam Berger and Arbel Yehud are released today, I ask every woman to look at their terrified faces while they are surrounded by hundreds of JIHADI MURDERERS and think about how you would feel being them. If you were 20 years old as they are? If this was your 20 year old daughter? If you are terrified imagining that reality, but since October 7 said nothing, then ask yourselves why you stayed silent.
Every “organization” who claims to support women, women’s rights, female empowerment, and takes a stand against violence and abuse of women, but stayed silent on the murder, torture, rape and abuse of Jewish women in captivity, I have one wish for all of you: BURN to the ground you hypocrite antisemites.
You are no better than the Jihadi supporters yelling for an Intifada and I hope each one of you vanishes into thin air.
Welcome home Agam & Arbel! 🇮🇱🇺🇸
