Sometimes Allāh delays something, not to deprive you, but to grant you something better at the time He knows is best.

Intentions on ʿĀshūrāʾ are readily accepted and can be a means for reformation and rectification.

If a person struggles with a sin or bad quality that he wishes to abandon, then if he makes a firm intention on the Day of ʿĀshūrāʾ to leave it for the sake of Allāh, Allāh will bless him with the tawfīq of abandoning that action. For example, if a person suffers from uncontrolled anger, smoking, neglect of obligations, or any other weakness, and he makes a sincere intention on the 10th of Muḥarram to forsake that and reform himself, Allāh will make it easy for him to do so.

Likewise, if a person wishes to acquire a good quality or establish a righteous practice in his life, then if he makes the resolve on this day, Allāh will assist him. For example, if he has struggled with Fajr, punctuality in prayer, recitation of the Qurʾān, or consistency in worship, then he should make a sincere commitment before Allāh on the Day of ʿĀshūrāʾ. Allāh will grant him the ability to inculcate that.

If we cannot journey to Madīnah, let our salutations journey there instead. The angels faithfully convey them to the Prophet ﷺ.

Increase your recitation of Durūd.

Let your love, longing, and gratitude reach him ﷺ through abundant salutations.

in this month, sins are multiplied in quality. good deeds are multiplied in quantity and quality.

in this month, we are warned to stay away from wrongdoing and we are encouraged to increase our good deeds.

Allah Ta’ala take us all back to the haramain over and over again, till the day we die. May we never be deprived from seeing the baitullah. May we never lose sight of the sanctity of the haramain no matter how much we visit.
